Y’all was laughin’, talkin’, and all over each other.”
â€œNaw, ma, get it right, she was all over me. That was just a front. Anytime a beautiful woman is in our presence that’s how she does,” Eli explained.
â€œYou really couldn’t blame her when she saw this young tender,” Kylee boasted, taking a cheap shot at his wife for being an older woman.
â€œYeah, a’iiight.” Eli laughed, loving Kylee’s confidence. “Look, ma, it’s a quarter to four. I’m about to get up outta here, but before I go, let me say this,” Eli said. “I know it sounds like I’m a heartless-ass nigga, but I’m not. I can’t help how I feel toward my wife. I tried to make myself love her, and thought that after Sy’onn was born it would make me fall in love with her, but it didn’t.”
â€œSy’onn’s is the name of the store I saw you in. Don’t tell me you own that, too?”
â€œI won’t tell you then.” Eli smiled and winked.
Jackpot! He’s not only sexy, he’s sexy and got money, too. “I don’t look at you any different, Eli. You can’t help how you feel about a person. If you don’t love her, you just don’t love her,” Kylee replied while shrugging her shoulders .
â€œI’m glad you understand.” Eli smiled while standing up. “Can you walk me to the door?” Eli held out his hands for Kylee to grab.
Please don’t go! Kylee thought. “What ya wife gon’ say about you comin’ in the house this late?” Kylee inquired while grabbing on to Eli’s soft hands.
â€œNot shit! She don’t give a fuck if I come home late or not, as long as I come. Plus, she lives in my house.” Eli smiled.
â€œOh, okay.” Kylee smiled back as she and Eli walked to the door.
â€œCan I call you later on?” he asked.
    â€œYou sure can,” Kylee replied.
â€œA’iiight, ma, sleep well,” Eli said while unlocking the door.
â€œThanks and you too,” Kylee said, yawning.
â€œMan, I don’t feel like drivin’.” Eli spoke while yawning as he opened the door.
â€œYou don’t have to leave,” Kylee said out of nowhere.
â€œHuh?’ Eli replied, just to make sure.
â€œYou don’t have to leave,” Kylee repeated with a smile, knowing Eli heard her the first time.
    â€œYou sure? I don’t wanna impose.”
â€œImpose on what? It’s not like I got a man,” Kylee stated, making sure she let Eli know that she was on the market.
â€œThat’s true.” Eli smiled while closing the door.
â€œHow you know I don’t got a man?” Kylee asked smartly.
â€œTrust me, Mr. Vernon ran down your entire demo.” Eli laughed.
â€œI shoulda known wit’ his nosey ass.” Kylee laughed as she turned and headed back to the living room.
â€œHe means well,” Eli said as he followed Kylee.
â€œYeah, whatever,” Kylee said, sitting down and picking up the remote. “What you wanna watch?”
â€œNothin’, I’m ’bout to go to sleep,” Eli said, sitting down beside Kylee.
â€œMe too,” she said, tryin’ to get comfortable on the sofa as Eli did the same.
â€œLook, ma, this sofa shit ain’t gon’ work. I gotta sleep in a bed,” Eli stated.
â€œThat’s cool; we can go upstairs, but no touchin’,” Kylee said, trying to keep up the good-girl persona that had Eli fooled.
â€œI promise, I won’t touch you unless you ask me to.” Eli smiled as he stood up from the sofa and followed Kylee up to her room.
Kylee switched on the light and instantly Eli started getting comfortable. He took off his shoes and shirt before sitting on Kylee’s bed and lying back.
Lord have mercy! Kylee thought. “Ummm, you not gon’ sleep wit’ a shirt on?” Kylee stammered, while checking out the
