“Okay, well, until he makes contact I’m sorry, but there is nothing more for us to do.”
“Thank you, officers.” I walked them to the elevators and asked the question that had been on my mind for a while. “What happens if the bastard tries to attack? Am I within my rights to end his ass?”
“Mr. Vitale, we can only say that if you are in your home self-defense is a plausible excuse, but we wouldn’t recommend taking the matters into your own hands.”
“I am not planning to attack him, but I will do anything and everything to protect Sarah.”
“We understand, sir, but please be careful, desperate people do crazy things.” They left with a warning to not be alone, either one of us because Jason may attack me, too. I’d end his ass if he came after me.
I returned to Sarah. “Hey, baby, how are you feeling?” She put her arms around my waist and her head on my chest.
“I am better with you around, but my love, we have some work to do for the day, and I think I would feel better if we actually got some work done so we can get ready for the benefit tonight.” I squeezed her tight then let her go. We got back to business at hand. There was a lot to do before the party.
We both had been working on our respective projects and managed to make the deadline. I stayed later in the office since it was not going to take me long to get ready, and I had a lot of shit to catch up on. Paul stayed with Sarah while she made a run to the salon and back to the condo to dress.
Thankfully nothing major happened when I left the office. I met with Paul and Sarah without any security at the house, against express orders of the police. It was a stupid move, but I didn’t want a band of protection around me. Sarah was a different matter. I wanted her fully protected.
I got dressed in the spare bedroom because I wanted to be surprised. Since I was ready before her, I waited for her in the living room. When she appeared, I was speechless. Sarah walked into the room with a long black dress that was strapless and looked as though it was painted on. Her curves were accentuated, and when she moved a slit climbed up her leg all the way to her hip. Fuck, I was going to jail tonight. I needed to warn Paul and David so they’d be ready with bail. Her dress was a silky material that shined as she sashayed over to me. I felt hypnotized by the beauty that was my Sarah.
“Amore, you look amazing, stunningly perfect,” I gulped down instant desire.
“Thank you, my deliciously handsome man.” Her hand ran up my chest inside of my suit. Damn her.
“I am going to have to fight them off with a stick.” I hoped to hell I wouldn’t have to get into a fight tonight, because I planned to rip that thing off when we get home. While I was staring at her breasts, I noticed she was wearing the necklace, good girl. Then I looked down at her wrist and there was the graduation present I gave her. She saw me staring at it and blushed.
“I am sure I will probably be going to jail tonight. If any man stares at my sexy woman, I am going to have to kill him. Or I am going to have to fuck you in a public place because I can’t resist you for so long. We won’t be staying long tonight. Promise?”
“Absolutely, Michael, I don’t want to go to jail for lewd acts in a public place.”
Paul drove us to the event in the town car. I didn’t need nor want the limo. We have plans to be in and out of the function as soon as possible and the less attention we drew to ourselves, the better. Plus, there was a lot more room in a limo, making it much easier to fuck each other. I didn’t want to chance fucking up her hair or dress by giving her a good pounding she deserved.
We intentionally arrived late and entered the gala with it in full swing. It seemed as though we were the last to enter, thank fuck. The luck wasn’t to last. No more than one minute after giving our coats to the coat attendant we were hounded by some of my business
