the detectives as I sat there stunned. I was trying not to let this get me down. I’d just been in heaven a moment before I got to my desk, now I was panicking.
“Detective Marshall here. How can I help you?” Michael placed the call on speakerphone so they could hear us both.
With his hands on his waist Michael growled out his response. “Detective, this is Michael Vitale and Sarah Owen. She just received a bouquet of roses with a card that said, ‘I am sorry. I still love you.’ I know they had to have come Andrews.”
I chimed in with a hint of panic still in my voice. “What are we supposed to do?”
They put the call on speaker phone so her and her partner could listen at the same time. We could hear one of the detectives take a deep breath on the other end of the line. I had a feeling that there was nothing they could do. “We have to wait until we have all the information before we can strategize a plan, but you can be extra vigilant to make sure that you do not go out without someone with you.”
“Sarah, do you have any other exes that would have a reason to be sorry?” the other detective asked.
“No, I haven’t seen any of my exes, except for Jason, in a very long time and definitely not any that would feel they should be sorry.”
“Well then, we’d want to see that video you have and the card you received. Do you know what floral place it came from?”
“No, there were no markings from any company and the delivery company said that it was sent by a Franklin Lloyd Right. Get this. The bastard spelled the name wrong. It had to have been him.”
“We will be there shortly. Does your office have surveillance outside the building? We could see if he is out there waiting for a reaction.”
“That is a great idea, detective. I will have the tape cued for the last hour.” We hung up and waited for them to show. Michael pulled me in his arms and kissed my forehead before tucking me into his chest.
“It’s going to be alright. I am not going to let anything happen to you. Do you trust me?” I was really frightened for both of us. He could come after us at any time. We didn’t travel with tons of guards or anything, so he had opportunities to strike.
“Of course I do, Michael, but it seems like he has a few screws loose now. That can make Jason extremely dangerous.”
We held and kissed each other until we were interrupted by security. They called up informing us that the detectives had arrived, along with one of their techs to review the footage on Michael’s computer. When it was high profile victims and suspects, the police were all over it in a hurry.
They all looked at the video but found no footage of Jason anywhere. It was very frustrating for all of us, but I knew it hit Michael hard.
“Miss Owen, Mr. Vitale, I am sorry to say that right now there is nothing we can do. Without proof that he actually sent these to you, we can’t do anything.” I felt Michael’s hands tighten around my waist. He was about to lose his shit.

MICHAEL
“That’s bullshit. What were we supposed to do? Wait until he tries to attack her again.” I was beyond pissed. I didn’t like feeling helpless. My job was supposed to protect her and these people were no damn help.
“Calm down Mr. Vitale. Getting angry isn’t going to help.” I wanted to throw those detectives out of my office, but Sarah squeezed my hand. Her loving touch calmed me down.
“Have there been any other incidents that could have been him?” Detective Turner said, hoping to get some other sort of details or evidence to get Andrews.
“Well, the day David stopped by there was a call, and when I answered it, no one said anything and then hung up,” Sarah added.
“Who is David?” They asked simultaneously.
The detectives needed to rule out any other potential stalkers, so I got the reason for the questioning of any other man.
“He is my best friend.” I wanted them to know that looking into him would be a dead
