acquaintances. Immediately, I pointed out that Sarah was my girlfriend. I was proud to have her as mine, and I wanted every man in the room to know who she belonged to.
We had been speaking to Mr. and Mrs. Wilson about our new puppy when Roderick Holmes joined us with his date, none other than Brandi.
“How wonderful it is to finally meet you, Miss Owen. I have heard many things about you.” Roderick Holmes stuck out his hand and took Sarah’s into his, kissing it with old world charm. I tried to keep my cool. The kiss to the hand wasn’t overtly sexual, but I didn’t like the look he gave her. I had to keep an eye on this arrogant, old fuck.
“Oh please, Rick, stop flirting with the little whore.” Everyone’s mouth opened wide. I turned red with anger and pulled Sarah close to me, wrapping my hand around her waist.
“Brandi, enough dear. She has had a bit too much to drink and is still wounded by Michael’s betrayal.” His words were meant to be a dig, but it didn’t work, one bit.
“I didn’t betray her. We were never a couple to begin with. So act civilized and leave Sarah out of your bitterness. Excuse us.” I looked at Sarah, “Amore, let’s go.” I started to lead the way to the drinks just to get away from Brandi, but I was halted when Sarah jerked me back and not of her own volition. Brandi had latched on to Sarah’s wrist. If I would ever like to pop a woman in the mouth, it would be her ass.
“Let go of me, you gold digging tramp,” Sarah growled her words at Brandi. That was my girl. I was proud as hell.
“You think you are something special, but you are nothing but an ugly, poor, dirty slut, and he only wants you because he hates your ex-boyfriend. He will come back to me. Men like him always do.” Holmes pulled her back and gave Sarah an apologetic look. I didn’t trust him for shit. He hated my success and would gladly try to ruin me. The way he was eyeing Sarah, financially wasn’t the way he was going to go. If he tried to separate us, I’d bury him.
“Sarah, baby, are you okay? I am sorry.” I checked her wrist to make sure that bitch hadn’t done any damage to my woman. It was red, but there was no evidence that a bruise would appear.
“Michael, don’t be sorry. That whore is delusional and drunk. She can’t help that you are the whole package. She wants it all, but got stuck with someone old enough to be her dad. I am just glad you are with me.”
“Thank you, baby. I love you.” We stopped at the bar and got our drinks. I introduced her to many people at the party. They liked Sarah. A lot of them commented on how smart it was to corner her to work for me so I could get her to be my girl. “You got me there. It took a lot of planning,” I joked when I really did what I could to get her to work for me.
We sat down at our table and tried to enjoy our thousand dollar plates of food, but Brandi sat not very far away and was shooting daggers at my woman. To piss me off, her fuck buddy was smiling at Sarah. We both focused on our dinner forgetting the scum across the way. The band started to play as the last of the tables were cleared of food.
Standing up, I leaned down toward my lovely lady and asked, “Do you want to dance?” I held my hand out for her as she rose in that barely-there gown.
“I would love to, my good sir.” I took her into my arms and twirled her around the dance floor, moving with love and desire in our eyes. Our movements were on display for all to see, including the very angry and vindictive bitch Brandi.

SARAH
After we danced, I had to use the bathroom. “I have to tinkle, then we can leave, okay?”
“Perfect sweetheart,” he growled near my ear.  “I’ll get our coats and meet you at the entrance.” He gave me a kiss which lasted longer than we had planned.
“Sounds like a plan,” I said and turned away before he kissed me again.
We were trying to make a break for it before we were stopped by more of his friends and
