“I know enough.”

“I know enough to know you’re fearless. You not afraid to fight for yourself. For what’s right.” He kissed her temple. “It’s one of my favorite qualities about you.”
“I don’t know what came over me here,” she said. “ I’ve never done anything like that before.”
“I’ ll teach you more. How to defend yourself.”

“I never want you to be afraid again.”
“I won’t. As long as you’re with me.”
“As long as you’re here, you’re mine. I’ll never let anyone harm you. Not Franco or Brice or anyone.”
And she believed that. How could she trust him so quickly in such a short amount of time? She didn’t know. But if felt right . And she didn’t want to lose that. Ever.
“ I want to help release the women.”
He trailed kisses down the side of her face, her neck. He was making her lose her focus.
“Okay,” he said. “You can.”
“Just like that?”
“We need all the allies we can get,” he muttered against her skin, his breath warm. It sent zinging sensations through her entire body. Right to her center core. “I want you again.”
“I want you again, too, but Lucian I’m serious.”
He flicked his tongue over the notch at the base of her throat. Ohh…
“So am I.” He licked his way to her earlobe.
“So that’s…it then?”
“That’s it. You can stay. With me. Forever.”
“You don’t have to get permission from your commander?”
“I don’t have to get permission from anyone except you and you’ve already said yes.”
That was good. She liked that. She smiled. “I need something binding for our new alliance. You know. Something to seal it.”
There was a lascivious twinkle in his eyes. “And what might that be, sweetheart?”
Swoon! “I need it sealed with a kiss.”
“Ask and you shall receive.”
As his lips met hers, Eve sighed with contentment.
