A Bonding Experience

It had all started like a normal enough day; Landon and I shared a breakfast of coffee and oatmeal then I hopped in the shower.
I shaved my legs while in the shower and suddenly felt a burning pain in the middle fingernail of my left hand.
    “ Ooooowwwww!!! Shitfire!! ”
    “Shannon?”
    “Ow ow owwieee! What!!”
    “What happened?”
“I cut myself and it hurts.”
    “You cut your leg?”
    “No.”
    “What? Your hand?”
“I cut through one of my fingernails and it’s bleeding a little. Stings like the dickens.”
    “Your fingernail?”
    “Yes, my fingernail.”
    “With the razor?”
“Yes. What is this? Twenty questions?”
    “How did you do that?”
“I don’t know. I was shaving and I guess my hand was in the way.”
“Why would you have your hand there if you were shaving?”
“I don’t know, Landon! It was an accident. Good grief, it’s not like I’m filing a report on it!”
“Don’t take that tone with me, young lady. I’m just trying to understand what happened here.”
“I cut my finger while I was shaving. What’s to understand?” I said, frowning at him as I grabbed a towel and stepped out of the shower.
Landon looked at me, shook his head and sighed before leaving the bathroom to finish getting ready for work. I hate that look!
I muttered to myself as I studied my poor fingernail. The cut was diagonal across it, covering over half the nail. A faint red area just above it indicated where my finger was cut beneath the nail. I’d really done a number on it. As I looked at the nail I realized that it was in danger of coming off where I cut it, which would lead to the rest of it coming off too. I couldn’t have that, it would look gross.
As I pondered the problem, I remembered a friend telling me that she used super glue on paper cuts and they sealed and healed rather quickly that way. I knew I had some super glue in the fridge so I decided to try it.
I dotted the glue along the cut area of the nail and thought I better apply pressure to make it stick, so I pressed the thumb of my other hand to it.
Okay… I realize now that it wasn’t the smartest move I ever made, but at the time I wasn’t thinking…
After pressing for a few seconds, I decided it was good enough and started to remove my thumb from the affected area. It didn’t budge.
    “ Shit! Shit! Shit! ”
    “What did you do now?”
I jumped at the sound of Landon’s voice coming from directly behind me. “Nothing,” I said, trying to keep my back to him.
    “Let me see.”
    “No, it’s nothing, go away.”
“Shannon, turn around right now and show me what you did.”
I sighed; recognizing the tone in his voice, I gave in to the inevitable, turned to face him, held out my hands, and showed him the way the thumb of my right hand seemed to be stuck to the middle finger of my left.
Landon studied my hands in puzzlement, then spotted the open tube of super glue on the counter. Light dawned. “You glued your hands together?”
The total disbelief in his tone got my back up a little. “Well, you’re the detective! What’s it look like to you?”
That earned me a glare. “How did you manage to do that? What were you thinking?”
“I don’t know. Obviously I wasn’t thinking!” I shouted, more irritated with myself than with him, but he was getting that exasperated dazed look I so despised again.
    “Watch your tone.”
“Oh, bite me! ” I yelled, borrowing one of Seb’s favorite phrases.
Let me just say this was another unintelligent move on my part. When your hands are glued together in front of you, you can’t exactly protect your bottom.
In no time flat I was across his knee with my robe shoved up out of his way. Never had I felt so helpless as I did with my hands totally useless in front of me, stuck together like I was fixing to dive into the pool.
    “Owwwwwww… Landon, I’m sorreeeeee… owwwwwwwwwww!”
As his hand lit a fire in my behind,
