all. What do you think Peter?”
    Peter gave his
enemy of old a wary appraising look then grabbed the offending
publication. He stared at the luscious brunette who graced the
middle pages, his eyes raking over her image from top to toe.
    “I think his
pulse is accelerating” Arion commented with some amusement
    “There’s life
in the old man yet. Give him the cake to try Tyra.”
    “Hey cut with
the old. I’m no older than you Simon.” Peter grumbled before taking
a bite out of the chocolate covered danish. “Oh my!” He licked his
lips. “You don’t know what you’re missing.”
    Simon hmphed.
“You don’t really need that muck to enjoy good food but the once
won’t hurt you.”
    Peter stared
at Tyra. “You I know. I killed you once, in another life. Forgive
me, I didn’t see the light in you as I see it now.”
    Simon tsked.
“Let’s leave past lives alone shall we. Little good can come from
dredging them up.” He turned to Tyra. “Simply know that I will
always love you, what you were in the past, what you are now and
what you will be in the future. We are one.”
    Tyra wasn’t
sure now was the time to cry with joy at her lover’s words. She’d
hold them to her heart to be treasured later. Knowing he could read
her mind and know the impact of those words on her was enough. In
the depths of her mind she felt her connection with him and knew in
her soul that he felt that way about all his mates and that pleased
her more than she could say. She made her way back to the podium,
she had a job to do.
    People started
returning to their seats but continued to look warily in the
direction of their wayward councillor. It was a wonder that no one
had called the cops. Only Simon knew that he’d blocked that impulse
from the few who had started to think it. He gave Peter a hand up
to help him stand. “Might I have a word with you after the council
meeting, about this Din alliance of yours? We could always use
another double agent.”
    “Does that
mean you have one already?”
    “All in good
time Peter, you’ll have to earn our trust. All the Malakim as well
the other beings on this planet have suffered because of your
complicity with the enemy. They will need to be convinced by your
future actions that you have truly turned the page. In the meantime
go and enjoy a bit of life. The world is a way for the all-spirit
to express itself on the material plane. It’s a kind of playground,
or at least it should have been. It was never meant to be turned
into violent, competitive, misery laden hell you guys promoted as a
force to drive people to escape into, at best, a purely mind-based
half-enlightenment and at worst a mindless, unquestioning belief in
a dogma that their suffering would buy them a piece of nirvana. The
world was meant to be a supportive, nurturing childcare centre for
young growing souls,a school for growing compassion and an
understanding of the true nature of the cosmos not the brutal
detention centre you guys turned it into. Use the power of your
intent to create a better world for yourself and those you’ve
caused untold suffering to. You can enjoy the world just don’t get
stuck in it. You know it isn’t all there is.”
    Peter looked
contrite. He pretended to study his shoelaces for a moment then
looked up and stared Simon squarely in the eyes. “Yes, I know
Simon. I’m truly sorry. I will go and try to undo the mess I’ve
made.”
    Simon looked
on him a little more benignly “Don’t judge yourself or your
colleagues Peter, you acted out of ignorance, not from evil intent.
Undo the damage in your own mind, heart and soul, the rest will
come of its own accord. Dissolving the collective mindset happens
one changed mind at a time. When enough minds are changed, and it
won’t have to be as many as you think, neither the Deniers or the
Din will be able to stop the coming global transformation.”

    The rest of
the meeting had been...well ... not uneventful. A lively and
vigorous debate
