change , she said silently.  She got a glass from the cupboard and went to the fridge to fill it full of orange juice. He never flinched.  He sat there ignoring her as if nothing ever happened between them.
You’ve seen me naked asshole! At least say good morning!
Fine ! She huffed.  He wants to play that game, then so can I!   She didn’t understand her reason for being upset with him.  This was the deal they made.  A one night shot with no emotions involved.  She took an apple from the bowl and sat at the opposite end of the table.  Taking a bite she said, “Well, today is day three. Will I be able to go home?”
Zach carefully refolded the newspaper and looked at her with those steely blue eyes.  Her heart double-skipped, rendering her weak in the knees. Damn, he’s handsome. Stop it! She was allowing herself to get caught up in one night of meaningless sex. She wouldn’t be this way if she didn’t wait a trillion years to jump back on the horse.  Tonya had introduced her to many viable suitors that could do the job but she passed on them all. She had let Greg ruin sex for her.
Before making up her mind to sleep with Greg, she’d let Tonya’s stories of great sex fill her head.  She couldn’t wait to have that eye-opening type of pleasure Tonya bragged about.  She spent hours preparing for the perfect evening. She had to have the right lingerie. The bedroom had to have the right music and lighting. She had planned to feed him grapes and picked out the best ones out of the bunch.
What a letdown after all that.  Greg rushed everything.  He didn’t take the time to undress her or comment on the effort she put in to make their first time together special.  He was so happy to finally get her in bed after months of begging that he dragged her to the bedroom, told her to undress while he did the same.  She expected so much more from him since he was a caring and loving man before they became intimate.  What she got was his sad attempt at foreplay. An amateurish dump on the bed, sloppy wet kisses down the side of her neck while he fumbled to slip on a condom.  Once he got it on he got down to business. Unprepared for him, she felt a slight burning from his quick penetration, then ten minutes later, she lay on her back listening to him snore loudly.  She was left to wonder what the hell just happened.
Where were the fireworks Tonya promised? There was nothing to make her dream it over and over as Tonya said it would.  Then again, Tonya never had sex with Greg. Her first experience was bad and since he took her virginity, she assumed that was how it was supposed to be.
Sadly, the next time it happened it didn’t get better. Carla cried on Tonya’s shoulder about how she hated having sex with Greg and began to fake most of her orgasms just to get it over with. Tonya tried but could not convince Carla that sex with the right person would be enjoyable and slap a permanent smile across her face. Carla wasn’t hearing it and when they split, she never thought about sex again.
Carla took a sip of orange juice looking over the rim of the glass at Zach.  Darn it, Tonya, you were right. Her cheeks flushed at the thought of last night. Why did he have to be a good lover? I’ll never find another man that can deliver like he does.
Carla crossed her legs under the table and lowered her eyes from Zach’s gaze.  He was a face reader and seemed to know exactly what she was thinking. He didn’t need to know she was thinking about that.
He finally spoke. “I don’t see why not. I’m waiting on a call from my commander, to get the green light.”
“Why wouldn’t he let me go? We’ve been here for days and nothing has happened.  Apparently, that creep wised up and skipped town after what happened in the bus shelter. He doesn’t want to tangle with you again.”
He drank from his coffee cup. “I wish it was that simple, Carla. When I was in town yesterday, the shop owner said a foreign man
