Thomas”
she snapped looking back at her computer. “What do you
want?”
    “ I thought I
would come and see if you were okay?” Her eyes slowly looked up and
the look softened. “I can see you’re doing rather well” my finger
pointed out the see-through blouse and she shifted awkwardly in her
seat.
She sat back in her seat. “Your
not looking bad yourself, Mr Thomas.”
I tilted my head to the side.
“You know me,” I pretended to remove an invisible hair from my
trouser leg. Her eyes watching my fingers, I quickly looked back at
her and she removed her lip from the grip of her teeth. “See
something you like, Georgina?” I teased.
    She shook her head and
swallowed hard. I wanted her to walk round and sit on my lap, the
blood flowing down below was beginning to become unbearable.
    “ What are you
doing this weekend?” I asked, trying to distract myself.
    “ Nothing” she
quickly replied. “You?”
My lips twitched. “I need to go
to New York”
Her face fell and I knew
exactly what she was thinking. Once again she turned into cold
Georgina. God, I had taught her well. “Business or pleasure?” She
snapped.
    “ Business” I
replied softly. “You know how I work...”
She gave a little laugh and
placed her head in her hands. “Will she be getting a necklace or a
hotel suite?” The hatred filled her voice and my heart sank.
    I sat forward. “George...
please, I’m not interested in her.” Her expression never changed. I
rubbed my finger along my brow and I exhaled. There was no point
even trying to reason with her when she was in defence mode.
“Look,” I stood up. I couldn't be near her much longer as I was
sure I wouldn't be able to control myself. “Will you have Bailey
this weekend?”
    “ Of course”
she beamed, my heart broken a little bit more at the sight of her
looking happy. In spite of everything I couldn't deny that she was
a good mum and I knew it was killing her not seeing Bailey. I just
nodded and began to walk out. “Maxwell,” she called after me. The
sound of her saying my name made the hairs stand up on the back of
my neck. I stopped in my tracks and turned to look at her. “Thank
you”.
    “ Any time,
Georgina” with that I made my exit. As I left her assistant stared
at me, but now I was no longer in the mood to fool about. I just
wanted my wife back, shame, she no longer wanted me.
I felt as if I’d been stabbed
in the heart and I no longer had a purpose. It was all my stupid
fault, once again Maxwell Thomas had messed up big time. I had to
prove to Georgina I was sorry and I would do anything to get her
back.

    Georgina

I ran into the restaurant where
Riley was waiting for me. I had been on cloud nine every since
Maxwell had visited me this afternoon. It had actually taken off
guard and I was surprised with how I had withstood all his
advances. It didn't help that the dream was forever flooding my
mind.
    “ Hey” Riley
smiled. “You look happy.” He kissed my cheek and I sat down. “Work
was good, huh?” He took his own seat opposite me.
    “ I am” I sang,
“Maxwell came to see him and I have Bailey this weekend.” I clapped
my hands in delight. I couldn't wait to spend a whole weekend with
my son. It did bother me that Maxwell would probably spending time
with that other woman. At the end of the day, I guess it was no
longer my business. We were both single and we both had to move on
with our lives.
He reached over and grabbed my
hand. “That's great, Georgina. I can not wait to meet him!”
His words took me off guard and
I removed my hand from his grip. My smile slowly made for the first
time in hours. “I’m sorry, Riley. It's just I told Maxwell I would
stay in a hotel. I just don't want to give him any reason to kick
off again.”
    “ Oh” he looked
embarrassed. “That's fine.”
Frustration hit me, I was doing
it again. I was allowing Maxwell to control my life and I hadn't
even realized. Why couldn't I share the weekend
