“That’s an absolutely ridiculous reason to get married!” she exclaimed.  She nervously checked her ear, making sure that she’d remembered to put her earrings in.
Jurar watched her hands, knew that they were an excellent barometer, and smiled triumphantly.  “And yet, it will be so,” he told her, stepping around her as he headed towards her brother’s office.
Ciala couldn’t let him go through with this.  They were strangers who had met three times, and those three times had been contentious.  Okay, yes, she’d acknowledge that there was a strange, impossible-to-ignore chemistry between the two of them.  But that was why she was offering an affair.
“We don’t have to get married,” she whispered in a hush.  “You’re just being ridiculously old-fashioned.”
Jurar stopped and grabbed her upper arms, pulling her against him as he glared angrily down into her pretty brown eyes.  “I am a ridiculously old-fashioned man, princess.  And I broke a rule.  I respect both you and your three brothers and I violated that respect last night!”
She wasn’t going to take that excuse.  “Are you seriously telling me that you’ve never had sex with another woman before?”
His eyes were hooded as he looked down at her.  “I can’t say that.”
She ignored the jealous tug at her heart with those words.  “Good!  Because I’d call you a liar after last night.”
“But we’re still getting married, Ciala.”
She stomped her foot!  “No!  We’re not getting married!  I’m not marrying you simply because of one night which was a mistake!”  She backed up a step, tugging her ear slightly before crossing her arms over her stomach, her chin jutting out defiantly.
If she hadn’t experienced the speed with which he moved, she never would have believed it of such a large man.  But he was strong and had a swiftness developed over years of military training.  In a flash, she found herself pressed up against the marble wall of the alcove just off of the entryway with a very angry man glaring down at her.
“I dare you to say that to me again,” he growled out, both of her hands pinned behind her back while his other hand reached up to cup her breast, his thumb flicking against her nipple through the silk of her light blue blouse.  He watched her eyes close and her mouth flutter open.  He could feel the tension in her, the way her body was already trembling, anticipating his touch.  “Say it now, Ciala.  Tell me you regretted being in my arms last night.”  Another pause while his thumb and forefinger pinched her nipple.  “Tell me.”
“I don’t.  I’m sorry,” she finally replied, leaning her head back and trying to press her body against his.  “I don’t regret a moment of it!”
He relented, but Jurar suspected that his move had been a strategic mistake.  Feeling her incredible body pressed up against his like that, seeing the way she instantly reacted to his touch, made his own body throb.  He’d been trying to teach her a lesson about lying to him, about denying what they had with each other.  But he’d also learned that his need was just as swift at rising as hers.  And his need was significantly more visible.
It took all of his mental capabilities to get his body back under control as he moved away from her delectable body.
“Don’t ever say it again, Ciala.  Or I’ll just prove it to you again and again until you can’t even form the words with those beautiful lips.”  He bent lower, capturing her lips.  The caress was meant to soften his words, but it morphed into something more powerful, leaving both of them breathing heavily when he lifted his head.
When he looked around, he realized how stupid their actions were.  His men were stationed at the opening to the alcove, but he’d just kissed his future fiancée in a place where anyone could have walked past.
“Come along,” he told her and took her hand, leading her out of
