the small area and heading towards the administrative area where he knew her brothers worked.
“Jurar, please,” she begged, pulling at his hand.  When he stopped, she moved closer to him, wishing she could find the words to make him re-think his plan.  “This can’t be the only solution.  And besides, couldn’t we just talk about this?  Couldn’t we discuss this before you march in and decide my future for me?  Put yourself in my shoes and think about how I must be feeling.  A man I barely liked yesterday is now demanding that I spend the rest of my life with him?  A man who didn’t really like me and the only reason he’s dropping this bombshell is because we made love last night, something millions of people do all the time.  It isn’t such a big deal.”
He moved closer, his hand touching the side of her face.  “First of all, I think that it was a big deal.  Wasn’t it?”  He waited for her blush to answer for her.  “And secondly, you could be pregnant.  Has that not occurred to you?”  When the lovely red only increased, he lifted a dark eyebrow.  “I can see that the possibility had not come to your mind.”
“But didn’t you use protection?” she asked.
He sighed as his thumb rubbed against her full, lower lip.  “I’m sorry, my dear.  I had intended to protect you, but we got a bit carried away once and the need completely slipped my mind.  We must marry.  It has been too recent that I’ve accepted my role as ruler in Drakar.  I can’t have any questions raised about the legitimacy of our child.  So yes, we do need to be married.  Not only for the possible child, but also because there is no way that I’m not going to have you in my bed again.  And very soon, if I can arrange it.”  With that, he bent lower and kissed her, gently this time but the passion was still there, lurking as they both pulled away.
Ciala understood all of what he’d said.  She didn’t have to like it to understand it though.  “Let’s go get this over with,” she sighed.  “But if it turns out that I’m not pregnant, I want the…”
“Don’t go there, Ciala,” he told her with a glare.  “We will be married.  I want you too badly to not have you in my bed.”
There was a growl, quickly followed by the words, “What the hell are you talking about?” as Ramzi stepped into their line of sight.
Ciala jerked around and tried to pull out of Jurar’s arms when she noticed her oldest brother standing at the opening of their private area.  And by the look in his eyes, he’d seen and heard what had been discussed.
“It isn’t what you think,” she started off, trying to appease Ramzi’s temper. Her fingers nervously touched her ear as she tried to think of a way to explain away the scene.
Unfortunately, Jurar wasn’t helping in her efforts.  “It’s exactly what you think,” he countered.  “Could we talk privately?”
Ciala knew that her brother was on the edge and possibly, in his mind, rightfully so.  But she wasn’t taking this lying down.  “No!  There will be no private conversations.  There will be no conversations at all!  This is between me and Jurar, Ramzi.  I would appreciate it if you would excuse us.”
Ramzi barely even glanced at his sister.  His wrath was focused on the taller man with his arm still wrapped around Ciala.  “Let’s talk in my office,” he said and stepped back.  Normally, Ramzi would have walked away and allowed the man to follow or leave. But in this instance, the man’s hands needed to get off of his sister.  Immediately!
Jurar wasn’t taking the hint.  He moved forward, but he grabbed Ciala’s hand and pulled her along with him.  And Ciala, for her part, was just as resistant.  She was pulling back, trying to stop Jurar from revealing everything to her older brother.  Finally, Jurar turned and looked down at her.  “Princess, you have two options.  You can either follow me into your
