The Recruit (Book Three)
anywhere.”
    She grinned as
she traced her hands lazily along the quilt on his bed. “I’m not
going anywhere, handsome.”
    He turned and
nearly ran to the bathroom. He popped open the medicine cabinet,
groaning softly when the box of condoms wasn’t there.
    “Fuck! Where
the hell is it?” He muttered as he pawed through the contents of
the medicine cabinet.
    “Son of a
bitch!” He bent and ripped open the door of the cabinet under the
sink. He tossed things out carelessly as he rifled frantically
through the cabinet for nearly five minutes.
    “Oh come ON!”
He nearly shouted with frustration. If he didn’t find the condoms
he was about to be stuck with the worst case of blue balls in the
goddamn history of blue balls. He muttered another curse and stuck
his entire head into the cabinet. There was a muffled shout of
triumph and he emerged clutching a box of condoms.
    “Thank you,
God.” He tipped a salute to the ceiling before leaving the
bathroom.
    Selena was
curled on her side and he dropped on to the bed beside her and
placed a soft kiss on her bare back. “We are good to go,
sweetheart.”
    There was no
response and he placed his hand on her hip and shook her lightly.
“Selena?”
    She made a soft
snoring noise and he leaned over her. She had passed out, and he
groaned and collapsed on his back and stared up at the ceiling. His
balls throbbed and his dick was hard as a rock, and he was still
holding the now-useless box of condoms in his hand.
    He sighed and
dropped the box on to the floor beside the bed before tucking his
hands under his head and taking a few deep breaths. Selena mumbled
something in her sleep before turning and snuggling up to him. She
put her arm around his waist and buried her face into his throat
before slinging one thigh over his.
    “Nighty night,
handsome.” She murmured.
    He sighed again
before putting his arm around her and stroking the soft skin of her
back. “Goodnight, sweetheart.”

    The dark brown
wolf backed away from the fallen deer. They had eaten their fill of
meat and Will barked sharply at her as she made a low whine. He
watched as the wolf began to shiver and shake and its whine turned
into a hoarse cry as Hannah shifted back to her human form.
    Will quickly
shifted, wiping the blood from his mouth as Hannah stared in horror
at the dead deer. “What - what have I done?”
    She touched the
blood smeared across her face. “Oh my God, I – “
    She turned and
staggered a few feet away before bending over and vomiting. Will
hurried over to her and rubbed her back soothingly as he held her
hair back. She continued to vomit until there was nothing left and
she was dry-heaving wretchedly.
    She wiped her
mouth with a shaking hand and gave him a miserable look. “Oh god,
Will.”
    She stared at
the mess of guts and blood she had vomited up and Will picked her
up and carried her away. “Don’t look at it, my love.”
    She started to
cry, her naked body shaking in the cool air, as Will made soft
noises of comfort. They were close to a small creek that ran
through the forest and he sat her down next to it before dipping
her hands into the water. He scrubbed them clean as she cried
silently before using the clear, cold water to wash the blood from
around her mouth.
    “Honey, it’s
okay. Don’t cry.” He pulled her into his embrace. She wasn’t cold,
her Lycan half was keeping her warm, but she was shaking
uncontrollably and the tears were still flowing down her
cheeks.
    “I’m sorry, I’m
so sorry.” She moaned. “I don’t know why I did that. I just – I saw
the deer with, well with my human half I guess, and there was so
much blood and I ate the raw meat and – “
    She dry heaved
again, slapping her hand over her mouth as Will rocked her back and
forth.
    “You have
nothing to be sorry about. This is my fault. I should not have
allowed you to hunt so soon. I’m sorry, my love.”
    They sat
quietly until Hannah’s crying had slowed to the
