she was his, nothing would.

Release came to both of them with explosiveness, and he collapsed on top of her, gasping for breath. For a moment, all was right with his world. Angelina was with him. He’d met her need to come, not to mention his own.
When the ability to function returned, he freed her from the cuffs, and they showered together. Soon he cuddled his angel with his chest and thighs pressed against her backside until her breathing told him she’d fallen asleep.
He lay awake as long as he could to keep the memories at bay…
Marc’s phone jarred him awake. Sun streamed through the drapes. What time was it? He glanced over as Angelina rubbed the sleep out of her eyes. Her hair looked rumpled and her body well-loved. His cock stirred to life.
He glanced at the caller ID and sighed before answering. “Good morning, Mama.” He reached out and pinched Angelina’s nipple, but she slapped his hand away, pointing to the phone and rolling her eyes. He chuckled.
“I trust you and Angelina slept well last night.”
“Very well.” When we finally went to sleep, anyway.
“What did you say to Melissa last night, Marco? She’s very upset.”
Marc sat up against the headboard. “Mama, I found her in our room last night—” naked —“harassing Angelina. I’m not sure why she hasn’t moved on and left this family alone. Gino died almost a decade ago.”
“Marco!” Mama didn’t sound happy. “How can you be so insensitive? She needs us. She loved Gino very much.”
“I think she’s using you. The only thing she needs is your money.”
There was a long pause before she said, “There are things you don’t understand, Marco.”
No shit, Mama. Why don’t you explain them to me?
Perhaps he didn’t want to understand. If Mama wanted to wear blinders where Melissa was concerned, let her.
“I’ll have a talk with Melissa about entering guest rooms without permission.”
“Mama, when I come to visit with Angelina again, I’d appreciate it if you didn’t invite Melissa to the family gatherings.”
Angelina stroked his chest, and he turned to her. She mouthed ‘thank you’ and he smiled.
“Oh, Marco, are you still upset with your brother and Melissa? We can’t control where our hearts lie. Why can’t you let that go?”
His smile faded. This had nothing to do with Gino’s heart. Aim a little lower, Mama .
“Look, Mama. I’m not upset with Gino anymore, and I’m happy to have Melissa out of the picture. There are some things you don’t understand, Mama.”
Things that would remain buried with Gino.
Marc ran his hand through his hair. He didn’t intend to talk with Mama ever about his past with Melissa. The shame of what they had done after burying Gino…
“Listen, Mama, we’re going to head home right after we check out this morning. Thanks for making Angelina welcome at dinner. I promise not to be a stranger so long the next time.”
After saying good-bye, he ended the call and stared at the ceiling. Angelina rested her head on his chest, and he reached up to stroke her hair.
“Thank you,” she whispered.
“For what?”
“For asking Mama to keep Melissa away from me when we visit again.”
“I was just doing Mama a favor.”
She raised her head and turned to him, quirking a brow. He grinned. “ Cara , one thing my mother hates is drama. I imagine the fur would be flying if you and Melissa ever shared the same space again.”
A slow smile warmed her face. “She does bring out my claws, doesn’t she?”
“Thank you for standing up to her. It thrilled me to see you defending yourself and me when I found you two in here last night.”
Angelina stretched out on Marc lengthwise and kissed him before rising and resting on her forearm. She stared directly into his eyes. “No one messes with my man and gets away with it.”
Her fingertip traced an abstract path through the hair on his chest. She seemed lost in thought before asking, “Marc, what were you
