with me,” he says as his lips roam across my mouth and neck.
“What?” I stiffen in fear. I’ve never gone anywhere with a man that i nvolved luggage and overnights.
He stops kissing me to look in my eyes. Will he see the fear in them? He’s so observant, he must, but if he does, he ignores it.
“I have time before my next project, you have time before the nightclub needs you, let’s go away. A friend of mine has a home in the Caribbean and offered it to us for this coming weekend.” Drew’s green eyes are vivid as he makes that sweet, sincere face that I find so adorable.
It’s so simple in his mind, and for everyone else, it probably is exactly that simple. Two people meet, they enjoy each other’s company, they spend nights together, they go away for the weekend, they find out everything about each other and they live happily ever after.
Why am I so fucked up? I’m twenty-four and I’ve never even had a real boyfriend. Well fuck that! I’m sick of not taking chances.
“Okay. I’ll go,” I say shyly, lowering my lashes in embarrassment.
I look back up and Drew is doing his full out, dimple-showing grin. I return his smile, then lean in and lick his delicious dimple. He gives me an amused look and I shrug. “I’ve just been dying to do that.”
He grins again. “You can do that anytime, babe. Absolutely anytime.”

Chapter 11

Drew had insisted that I take the car back to my loft even though it’s only a ten minute walk. “I’m not having you do the ‘walk of shame’ back to your place,” he said as we had coffee in his kitchen earlier this morning. I told him that it’s only a walk of shame if you feel shame, which I don’t. He laughed and called Bruce to come get me despite my protests. He’s kind of bossy sometimes, and I kind of like it.
When I get home Richard opens the door and greets me warmly . “Good morning, Miss Allen. You look radiant today.” He’s smiling at me as if he’s genuinely happy that I finally have a social life.
“Hi Richard, and thank you for being so sweet.” I feel the heat flood my face knowing that he’s seeing me return from a date that started last night. Then I realize he probably is happy that I’ve gotten a life. I’ve lived here for six years and he’s never actually seen me “date” anyone. I’m sure he thought I was weird or asexual or something. I giggle at my random thoughts as I step into the elevator.
Drew and I decided that since we both had a few things to take care of before we left on Thursday, we would just play it by ear until then. That gives me three whole days to freak out about how much I’ll have to ‘share’ on this weekend trip, if I don’t count today. He doesn’t seem to be the prying type, but in all honesty, I want to know more about him and I just don’t see how I can do that wit hout giving him more of myself.
Once inside my loft, I wander into my bedroom to change. Since Drew and I already showered, I don’t need to clean up much. I think about how he joined me in his huge travertine multi-head shower and took me forcefully against the tiles, shivering at the thought of this morning’s activities. God, I really am becoming insatiable.
I’ve just finished brushing my teeth and applied a little makeup when my phone chirps from my purse in the hall. Rummaging through my bag I see a text from Leah.
Call me when you can! I’ll be off at 3
    I tap out a response.
Come over later and we’ll get dinner, doing a little work first. Need to talk too.
There, that will get Leah’s attention; I need to bounce some stuff off of her before this weekend.
OK. WTH is going on??? See u after work
I bring my phone into the home office and plug it in to charge. Opening my MacBook, I answer some emails, coordinating the arrival of all of the different elements needed for Verve. I call Jeff Talley at the hotel and get his voicemail, so I leave a message updating him on the project and let him know I’ll stop by
