Through the Goddess ritual, Boreas searches for the woman who
carries the Goddess within her.”
The mythology of Borealis was enthralling. I let Marcus keep
talking as I listened closely, struggling not to fall apart under his purposeful
caresses.
“It is said she will be a hard-won submissive with a
disobedient streak. To find her among all the submissive women in Borealis, God
restrains them and inflicts pain with his Light just like he did with his
Goddess. But this time he is doing something different.”
I leaned in closer, entranced in the story. “What is a
hard-won submissive?”
“Most submissives fall naturally into their roles after they
imprint with God, but a hard-won submissive will choose to surrender to her Dom
only if she thinks he has earned the right to do so.”
A tingle of panic shot through me. “Go on.”
“God finally understood why the Goddess had disobeyed him.
As much as she loved his power and the pain he inflicted, she also needed
tenderness and care, something God is unable to provide. That is why in
Borealis, each submissive has a Dominant that comforts her and guides her
through God’s search for the Goddess. The Dominant/submissive bond is so strong
that it can refocus the pain God inflicts on the submissive and can even make
it pleasurable, but it is not an easy state to achieve. It requires a perfect
connection between the two. Any interruption of that bond leads to almost
unimaginable suffering.”
“Wow,” I said, blinking my eyes. “Let me see if I have this
straight. When God finds a hard-won submissive with a disobedient streak, he’ll
know that’s the Goddess?”
“Not quite. A submissive can be hard-won or disobedient and
not be the Goddess.”
“Then how will he know it’s her?”
“God will know the body the Goddess chooses because he will
feel that exquisite, spiritual and erotic bond between them.”
That reassured me a little. That didn’t sound at all like
the vibe I had with Boreas. “And what happens after he finds her?”
“Boreas will absorb the gentle and loving nature of the
Dominant that took care of the body she inhabited. God and his Goddess will
reign together in Borealis forever.”
“So the submissive stays with God?” Talk about a raw deal.
“In a way. Think of it more as if she splits in two. One
body with Aurora’s soul will remain with Boreas and another body with her own
soul will join her Dominant.”
    “How can that be?”
His face was filled with wonder. “It’s a divine mystery.”
“What happens to the Dominant and his submissive?”
“The Dominant will be named God’s Divine Progeny. He or she
will be deified and leave Borealis for the Next Place, which will be recreated
into a new world of the progeny’s own making to be ruled as they see fit. As
soon as it is created, their submissive will join them. All the other beings from
Borealis that have passed to the Next Place will be also there. It will be a
world of pure pleasure and there will be no pain.”
“That’s beautiful.” At least the mythology of Borealis had a
good ending.
“I wonder sometimes,” he said, with a dreamy look.
“About you being the Goddess.”
“Why is that?” I hoped my revulsion didn’t show on my face.
Living with Boreas for eternity was not my idea of bliss. However, I was
intrigued with the other side of it—to be free to love Marcus without limits.
“It’s just a feeling,” he said, shrugging it off as a
passing thought, though I knew it was more than that.

Chapter 11
I decided to tell Marcus about the unsettling differences
between Earth and Borealis. Maybe then he would understand why was always so
off-balance.
“In my planet, your asshole is not only an erotic entry
point, but it is where waste leaves your body.”
Marcus leaned away from me and grimaced. “That’s what
animals do!”
“On Earth, almost every creature excretes in one way or
another, including humans.”
    He crossed his arms in
