me.”
    “I do.”
“But we hardly know each other.”
“I disagree. I think we know each other quite well.”
“Theophanes said that to endure the Goddess ritual I had to
focus on your love for me.”
    “Yes.”
“But do you…do you love me yet?”
“Yet?” He released my hands and stared at me like I had two
heads. “Are you joking? I have loved you from the moment I first saw you. I
knew then you were mine.”
    Shocked, my mouth dropped open.
    “That surprises you?”
“Yes, on Earth, love usually takes longer than that. People have
to be with each other for a while before they even say it.”
    “That’s very sad.”
“You have never actually said it, that you loved me.”
Now it was his turn to be taken aback. He squeezed his eyes
shut and sighed. “I thought you knew.”
I shook my head. “I don’t know what to think. This is all so
overwhelming.”
Marcus took my hands in his and peered deep into my eyes.
“Claire Alexis, I love you. I knew it from the moment I saw you and I will
spend the rest of my life showing you how much.”
A knot formed in my throat as tears sprung from my eyes. In
that moment, I knew I felt the same way. I let out a nervous laugh. “And I love
you, Marcus Alexis, with my entire being. With you I can bear anything. You
protect me and love me, and it means everything. I hope you I can show you my
love every day from this day forward.”
His eyes glistened, filled with emotion. This beautiful man,
dominant as hell and sensitive to a fault, was touched that I loved him as much
as he loved me.
As he pressed tender kisses on my neck, I knew he would take
his time with me tonight. And I would savor every moment of it.

Chapter 10
After pleasuring me to blissful ecstasy, he continued to
explore my body like it was some exotic flower he had just discovered.
That’s how it always was: my body was his playground and he
owned it and cared for it like his own. His electric touch started to become a
necessity. It nourished me like food.
His fingers trailed between my breasts and down to my belly.
“Tell me more about the Goddess,” I said, with some
difficulty.
“What do you want to know?”
“You said Boreas used his Light on her and that the pain was
exquisite. Then what?”
“Aurora was so excited and enlightened by this new
sensation, that she began worshipping God, eager to meet his every erotic need.
God became Master and she was his slave. It was an almost perfect dynamic.”
I swallowed back my distaste, though I made a concerted
effort to listen. The more I understood, the better my chances of survival.
“Boreas and Aurora existed in a state of ecstatic spiritual
bliss for a long time until one day when the Goddess, who had the tendency to
be disobedient, asked God to let her take control just for one day so she could
know what it was like.
This request infuriated God and, in a fit of rage, he turned
her into a spirit because he could not stand to look at her face.”
    That definitely sounded like Boreas.
“It wasn’t long before he realized how much his heart ached
for her, but when he tried to turn her back to physical form, he could not. Her
disobedience coupled with his rage had caused a break in their divine
connection. Her spirit began to drift further and further away from God and
neither of them could stop it.
Before she disappeared completely, the Goddess vowed to do
all she could to come back to him in physical form. God vowed that he would
never stop looking for her and that when she returned to him, she would be his
submissive, not his slave. In return, the Goddess promised to never question
him again.
The Goddess now hovers over the physical plane, looking for
the right body to possess.”
“So that’s what the Goddess ritual is about—to reunite
Boreas and Aurora?”
Marcus nodded, his hand massaging my breast. “In preparation
for her arrival, God created Borealis, where the Goddess could return to him in
physical form.
