want, and I can’t get pregnant. But you can use protection with me if you want.”
“Are you kidding , I never want to use it again? That was the first time that I’ve had sex without a condom, and I had a hard time not coming too soon because you felt so good. Hey, what about my grade?” he asked, with a chuckle. “I turned in your A+ this morning,” she smiled, as she took a sip of her wine and handed the glass to him, not thinking.
“What do you think you are going to study in college, Nicholas?”
“ I don’t really know yet. How much did you really like my story?”
“I think that you write better than most of the erotic writers already out there, so I think that you could sell you r work if you really wanted to. Your story got me so turned on that I had to relieve myself right after I read it. That’s what erotic writing is all about, getting your erotic juices flowing, and you certainly did that for me. Do you want to help me fix dinner?”
“Sure, I would love to. All you have to do is tell me what you want me to do,” he smiled. She showed him where all of the salad makings were and asked if he would cut them up and toss their salad. She began fixing the red snapper, which was to be sautéed in butter with garlic and capers. The pilaf was prepared by browning the rice in olive oil along with some onion, celery, spices, especially cayenne, and then adding broth, a little white wine, and simmer.
“This is nice; it’s been a long time since I’ve had a man to cook for.”
They prepared their dinner and ate in her formal dining room. “This is the first time I’ve eaten in here since my husband was killed.”
“I’m sorry , Samantha. Would you rather we eat in the kitchen?”
“No, I am happ y to be in here again. I’ve always thought that this room was so elegant and comfortable. I just hadn’t wanted to dine in here until today, and I couldn’t be more pleased. I don’t know how long you will want to be with me, Nicholas, but I’ve decided that, at my age, I need to grasp what joy I can in my life,” she sighed.
“I have a confession to make, Samantha.”
“What’s tha ,t Nicholas?” she asked. At first, she thought that perhaps it was something dreadful, but then her common sense returned, and she knew that Nicholas would not keep something important from her.
“First, why don’t you call me Nick?”
“Because your name is much too beautiful, to simply reduce it to Nick.”
“That’s why I call you Samantha. You are too beautiful a woman for me, or anyone else for that matter, to simply call you Sam,” he said sincerely.
Samantha sounds so southern, so regal, and so elegant, and it suits you. You are regal and elegant. It’s just the way you are.”
“Nicholas , one thing is for sure, you are going to be good for my ego,” she said, laughing. “Now what about that confession you were going to give me?”
“Oh , yes, well this may seem a little outrageous but I’ve dreamed about being your lover for a long time now. It really did start about two years ago, but I knew that it was never going to be because of whom you were and the fact that I had nothing to offer you. I knew that you lived alone, and I didn’t think that you dated because I never saw you with anyone. Therefore, I knew that there must be a void in your life, and that you must be lonely, at least on some level.
I devised a plan so that I could tell you how deeply I cared for you, and that I wanted to be your secret lover. However, I didn’t want to risk a direct face-to-face confrontation, right out of the clear blue sky, which I knew you would reject outright. That’s when I decided to put my true feelings for you on paper, and try to talk you into letting me turn it in as my final manuscript. I knew that you didn’t have any idea that I was going to write about us, but it was a chance that I was willing to take.
I wanted you to understand that I knew what your concerns would be and that
