“I don’t like it. It’s too, erm, clinical!”
It’s been a week since we went to view flats and Matthew still hasn’t found anything that he likes. None of them feel homely or warm to him and I have to agree. We’re lying in bed looking at details that the estate agent has sent over but we’re both totally uninspired.
“Oh fuck it,” Matthew throws the details on the floor and lies down turning into me so that we’re chest to chest. “Thank you, for looking with me. I know it’s boring.”
    He kisses me,
“I don’t mind, you can’t keep throwing money away on that hotel though.”  I kiss him back.
“I know. I need to sort it out. Come here.”  Matthew squeezes my arse with his left hand, pulling me into him as he kisses me and I groan. “What’s wrong?”
“Baby, I’m sorry, I’m just so tired. I really don’t think I can.”
We’ve had sex at least once a day for the past three weeks, with blow jobs and sneaky wanks in between and I don’t think I could get it up tonight if I tried.
Matthew leans his head back and laughs,
“Oh thank god! Baby I’m knackered, I was just trying to keep up with you!”
“What? I was trying to keep up with you!”
I join in the laughter as we both realise that we’ve been scratching an itch that wasn’t there.
“Ok, promise time, we’ll always be honest and tell each other if we’re not in the mood, deal?” Matthew nudges my nose with his as he states his case,
    “Deal, now kiss me!”
He obliged and it soon turned out that we were in the mood after all.

    Matthew
“Baby it’s late; I need to go to bed.”
I yawn as I realise that midnight has crept up on us and I have to be up at five to get to the airport.
“Matthew, are you kidding me? You’ve been here less than an hour and you’re going to bed?”
Rafe has been particularly snappy over the last couple of days, I know that he’s tired too so I’ve been letting it slide, but it’s getting old. We’ve been together for three months now and it’s great, but I have a load of work and business opportunities coming in that I can’t and don’t want to pass up.
“It’s not my fault that my flight was delayed Rafe, I could have stayed in Dublin but came home to see you. I have to get up early to get back so yes, I need to go to bed.”
“For fucks sake Matthew, I hardly see you at all at the moment. You might as well have stayed away because there’s not a lot of point in you being here right now!”
“That’s great Rafe, thanks. I’ll fuck off home then. I appreciate that it’s pretty shit right now but I’m really busy and still trying to make the effort. You’re being an ungrateful prick lately Rafe!”
“Fuck you!” He spits out venomously.
I stand to leave and Rafe makes no attempt to get me to stay. I shake my head with a slight sarcastic smile, pick up my bag and head for the door, slamming it on my way out.
“Matthew, wait!”  I stop just as I reach the bottom of the stairs and turn to see Rafe standing shirtless at the top. Even when I’m angry with him he still stops my heart. “I’m sorry that I’ve been a twat, it’s just hard. I miss you at the minute.”
I take a breath and make my way back up the stairs.
“I know, I’m sorry too but it’s not always going to be like this. I just have a lot on right now.”  I take Rafe’s face in my hands and laugh “Worst first fight ever!”
He leans his head back and joins me, “I know. So lame!”
We head back into the flat and towards the bedroom.
“It’s shit for me too you know. If I’m honest, I don’t just come back here to see you, this is the only place that’s a real home to me right now. Living at one hotel and spending two or three nights a week at a different one is shit!”
I drop my bag to the floor and peel off my t-shirt as Rafe climbs into bed. He looks at me with an expression that I haven’t seen before. Like he’s
