loving how hooked I am. I see a glimmer of arrogance in his gaze as he slides out of bed.
I roll over to watch him walk naked out of the room and he stops at the doorway. Glancing back at me over his shoulder, Ford laughs at my expression then starts walking again.
After he’s in the shower, I crawl out of bed and find my clothes tossed all over the room. I need to pee, but wait until Ford is dressed. Once in the bathroom, I wash out my mouth and try to look presentable. It’s ridiculous since he’s already seen me at my morning worst. A girl has her pride though.
I walk out to the kitchen to find Ford and Pax drinking coffee. They stop talking when I approach, making me feel small under their gazes. I hope Pax doesn’t say anything to embarrass me. I also wonder what happened to the girl I heard the night before.
“You’re loud in the morning,” Pax says, smirking over the rim of the coffee cup.
Ford gives his brother a sideways frown, causing Pax to laugh.
“Hey, a horny girl’s cries are the best alarm clock around.”
Pax leaves his cup on the counter then struts past me. “See you at the Hunk O’ Love, Ford.”
As Pax heads outside, I watch him go before turning my focus to Ford who wags his finger at me. I feel awkward, having never woken up at a guy’s house before. Is there some kind of protocol I should be aware of?
    “Coffee?” he asks.
I glance down at his cup and take it. After a few sips of the black coffee, I hand it back.
“I was going to make you your own cup,” he says, giving me an odd look.
Eyes widening, I step back. “Sorry.”
Ford grins big. “You’re so sensitive.”
Caressing between my legs, I sigh. “Tell me about.”
His smile widens then he finishes the cup of coffee. Wrapping an arm around my shoulders, he walks me outside to where his Harley is parked under a carport. Before we climb on, he waits for me to put my hair into my hat so it won’t fly off.
“I should tell you something,” he says, rubbing his thumb over my jaw. “That girl last night is my last choice booty call.”
“That’s gross,” I mutter, feeling insecure.
    “You shouldn’t slut shame.”
    “I wasn’t calling her gross.”
“I know. I meant you shouldn’t slut shame me.”
    I laugh, despite my nerves.
“So the girl’s name is Maggie and I bang her when there’s no one better.”
“Or a girl blows you off,” I say quietly.
“Or I want that girl to stake her claim.”
I squint at him. “Did you play me last night?”
Ford runs a hand through his hair and tries not to laugh. “You wanted to come home with me. I needed to give you a push and Maggie was standing right there so…”
“If I hadn’t fallen for your little trick, you’d have fucked her though.”
“No. With you, I’m like a dog with a bone. Maggie wouldn’t have satisfied.”
I smile like a fool. “I like when you say bone.”
Ford finally laughs. “You’re a cool chick, Shay, and I like you. I want to be honest, so you’ll understand how resisting my charm is futile. I want you and I got you. Later, I’ll want you again and I’ll get you again. I only hope I don’t have to play any games to make it happen.”
I pat his chest and smile. “We’ll see.”
Ford climbs on his Harley and sighs. “Chicks.”
Once my arms wrap around his waist, I lean around his shoulder and smile. “I liked when you pretended you were too old to play games. Classic.”
When Ford grins, I know he’s admiring how much better he plays the games than I do. Yep, he had me fooled. While I should be angry, I’m not. How can I be when I got what I wanted anyway?
