I’m sorry, honey. I wouldn’t have asked if I’d known.” Jack felt like the biggest jerk ever. Hell, he had an overabundance of family, and if his brothers didn’t stop impregnating their wives, they’d take over the damned county. He pulled her into him and gave her a brief hug before stepping away.
Caleb came back with the rest of the crew. They all looked at her. “Oh, let me get my stuff!”
“Don’t you want to change first?” Keith asked her as she headed for the locker room.
“It’s okay. I’m just going home,” she explained as she grabbed her coat, pocketbook, and keys. “See, I’m all ready to go. I wouldn’t want to keep you boys from going out to play.” She smiled at their readiness to go.
Jack and Caleb were whispering in the corner of the restaurant. “You guys go ahead. We’ll be there in a minute. We’ve got to discuss some menu changes with Onalee first.” There was a lot of laughter as the other men left her there with the dynamic duo.
    “What’s wrong with the menu?”
“Nothing, we just didn’t want the boys to hear our conversation,” Caleb informed her with his sexy Southern drawl.
    “Excuse me?”
“You have two options,” Jackson told her. “Option one, you go into the locker room and change into your street clothes, come back out, and we’ll walk with you to the bar.” He gave her a wickedly sexy smile, a dimple showing in his right cheek. “Option two, you refuse, Caleb and I help you into your street clothes, and we’ll haul your ass to the club.”
“You can’t make me go to a damned bar! And you sure as hell aren’t going to see me naked, either one of you!” Where the hell did they get off thinking they could boss her around? She’d be damned!
“I definitely prefer option two, Wolfe. I want to see what she’s got under that uniform. I bet she likes lace.”
“I hoped it would be leather, but you know, it might be too uncomfortable for a long day at work.”
Both men were advancing on her. She swallowed hard. “I’ll be back in five minutes.” She flew out of the room, embarrassed as much by their laughter as the idea that they threatened to undress her. They were big enough to force her, and that was a titillating thought that she didn’t need to be having!
She reappeared a few minutes later in a pair of loose black jeans and even looser black top. She was slipping into her coat as she walked. “Okay. Are you satisfied?”
“Not hardly,” the two of them announced in unison. Jackson unlocked the door and held it open as the other two walked out into the cold night air.
They surrounded her as they walked to Hell’s Place. The two giants on either side of her made her feel protected and safe. Caleb pulled her out of her thoughts.
“Want to know what would make us satisfied?”
She smiled up at him. “Let me guess, two eighteen-year-old models with big boobs—for each of you—and a couple boxes of condoms?”
“Damn, girl!” Jack was laughing. “Leave the models for Caleb. I prefer real women.”
She wasn’t sure what he meant by that statement, but she wasn’t going to try to question him. They’d reached Hell’s Place, and while it might be after midnight, the place was packed to the ceiling.
“Hell, I’m not the one that dated that model last month! Onalee, I prefer women with curves. I hate trying to kiss a toothpick.” Caleb followed her into the bar. From that point on, she was literally dragged across the bar until they found Keith, Ian, and Bryce at a table. After signaling a waitress, beers were ordered.
Onalee didn’t drink beer at all. Grandpa George had laughed when she’d tried one on her twenty-first birthday and gagged. He’d told her it was an acquired taste, and she’d quickly told him she didn’t want to acquire a taste for it. She left the beer on the table and longed for a fruity mixed drink or a soft drink.
As the band started back up on stage, she was led to the dance floor by Jackson.
