time. But, to lose them a second time…” Gracie’s voice faded as she stared into the gold colored liquid.

“A second time…?” Mohan asked gently.

Gracie looked up into Mohan’s dark eyes. “When you told me everyone was okay, that the Earth was fine, I thought I would be going home. I thought I would see Chance again. Maybe even see my parents and sister.” Gracie paused for a moment before continuing. “I felt hope again and a reason for still being alive.” Gracie took a deep breath before finishing her thought. “Then, you told me it was all gone. Everyone, everything that was important to me. The things that made me fight so hard for survival when all I wanted to do some days was give up - was gone. I can’t describe the pain, Mohan. I can’t believe my heart didn’t shatter into a million pieces from it.”

Mohan looked at Gracie for a moment before she gently cupped one of Gracie’s small hands in hers. “Perhaps it could not shatter because it was no longer yours to break. Perhaps, your heart already knew it belonged to another. One that is in your world now and who will do everything he can to protect it.”

Gracie stared at Mohan before a tentative smile curled her lips. “Maybe you are right.”

Kordon knew about the conversation Gracie had earlier with Mohan. She was still under orders to record all of their discussions, even the private ones. It was not that he did not trust Gracie or want to infringe on her privacy, he wanted to learn everything he could about who she was now. He read the archives and what history said about her. Her courage and intelligence was without question as was her loyalty and her compassion for others. He was still frustrated with their language barrier but he knew Mohan was teaching her Confederation Standard and he was learning her ancient one. It would take time but each day it was getting better.

He knew part of his fear was the depression Toolas told him about. He still feared Gracie might try to end her life. He had argued that point with the Confederation Council when they heard about her being alive. Since at least one human sat on the Council, the news was unbelievable. The Council originally wanted Kordon to send Gracie to Paulus, the capital city but he refused citing a need for her knowledge in the Alluthans. It took every ounce of his patience not to order the Human Council member’s residence from being destroyed when he insisted Gracie be returned as soon as possible. It was only when the Council members request was overridden by the other members that Kordon was able to breathe a sigh of relief.

He returned afterwards to the communication’s room and practically dragged Gracie out. Between her conversation with Mohan where she admitted she missed the human male, Chance, and the slimy human councilman, Kordon needed to reassert his claim on Gracie. They had come together in an explosion of need. When Gracie suggested she be on top, Kordon fought the idea. A Zion Warrior was always on top. It gave him the control. But, one look at Gracie’s pouting lips and twinkling eyes made Kordon give in with a disgruntled grunt. Now, as she lay draped across his chest with him still locked to her, he wondered why he never tried this position before as it allowed him to enjoy the view of her tantalizing breasts while giving him deeper access to her sweet channel. He found if he pushed up as she came down he could easily touch her womb while sucking her pert nipples.

“Knock it off!” Gracie said sleepily in Confederation Standard.

Kordon’s eyebrows rose as he chuckled. “Knock what off?”

“You’re thinking of sex again.” Gracie said rubbing her cheek against his bare chest.

“Why do you think I’m thinking of sex?” Kordon asked with another chuckle.

Gracie rose up enough to look into Kordon’s dark blue eyes. “I can feel you moving inside me.” Gracie whispered. “I can feel the bands moving and stretching me and the tip
