back in bed trying to relax a little bit
more. “Do you know where Kierce is?” I asked.
“ He came by here a few days
ago. Apologizing for not letting me know. He told me his father
wouldn’t let him go anywhere since they already had you. He also
told me that they’re furious now, and won’t be satisfied until they
get you. Kierce is no use to them now, so for as long as he can,
he’ll try to tell us his father’s actions. As of now, they’re
building an army, and coming to get you. They don’t know how many
people are actually protecting you.”
“ They don’t know? How many
are actually protecting me though? Isn’t it just you, and well,
Kierce.”
“ Yes, but there may be much
more. I don’t know any of that because I have only focused on you.
No one has come to me about you before. Therefore, I’m as lost just
like you.”
“ Well, for being the last
watcher, I guess there may be people who we don’t even know looking
over me. If there are though. Why didn’t they come and save
me?”
“ I’m pretty sure they knew
you were in no danger yet. I’m assuming they’ll come if anything
big happens.”
“ Well I hope so. Because I
don’t think the three of us can just fight a whole army of hunters
off.”
“ Yes, you’re right. But we
can damn well try it.” Tae said. Knowing that next time he’ll be a
lot more prepared, as well as me.
Chapter Nine – Enhanced
I have stayed at Tae’s for a few more days
until I decided I needed to go home to my mother and father to tell
them I need to hide. I’m pretty sure the hunters won’t come after
them, but to be safe, they need to hide as well. I got fully
dresses with the clothes that Tae has brought to me and headed to
my see my parents. Tae of course came with me. I loved seeing the
familiar streets and houses, especially mine. I missed the coziness
and the faint smell of cinnamon.
“ Mother, father, are you
guys home?” I asked as I opened the front door.
“ Sweetie! Oh my Amabel! I’ve
been worried sick! Don’t you do that to us!”
“ Mother, we need to
talk.”
“ Yes of course, but first
get your coat off so you can eat. You look like you haven’t eaten
in weeks!” She said. She was right now. I haven’t eaten in too
long.
“ That sounds good.” I said,
as I sat down to eat some hash browns with eggs. My father’s
favorite thing to cook was definitely breakfast.
“ So what did you want to
talk to me about?” My mother asked.
“ Well, as you know. I got
kidnapped by the hunters. Tae helped me escape and now they’re
pissed. They will come for me again one day. Probably soon. I need
you guys to hide, as well as me. For now I will stay at Tae’s
house. It’s in the woods and not really known by many people. You
guys need to go out of Alaska until it’s safe.”
“ No, I’m not leaving you
Amabel!”
“ Mother, you have to! You’re
not a watcher like my real father was. You can’t protect yourself
or me. You need to leave with dad, well, Richard. You guys need to
get out of here and soon! I will contact you whenever I can to keep
you guys updated.” I told her.
“ Well, I suppose you’re
right. Please be careful, and call me all the time sweetie. I’ll
miss you.” My mother said, with tears rising in her eyes. I knew
this hurt her but it was the right thing to do. I didn’t want them
hurt or worse, killed.
“ Yes mother, I am right. I’m going to
grab a few more things form upstairs, as well as Tae’s and we’ll be
off. Don’t tell us where you’re going. I don’t want a chance for
any hunters to find out where you are. I don’t know the powers they
have. My luck, one of them will read minds or seek
memories.”
“ Well, okay. You go then.
Please be safe.” My mother said, getting up and coming towards me
to hug me. She held me tight few a few minutes and finally let me
go. As she did, I ran upstairs to grab a few clothes for me and Tae
and was ready to leave.
“ I’ll miss you
