Forbidden Love With a Thug III
bathroom!” I barked and walked out with the chick right on my heels. “And you need to go!” She rushed out of the house before I could even finish.
    “Eli man, what are—”
“Shut the fuck up and tell me what you told Navid!”
I knew now that the big dogs weren't dropping by, these fools would be acting a fucking monkey. They knew smashing bitches in here was not something that they could do. I wanted to slap his stupid ass across the face with my gun, but I decided against it since there were more important matters at hand.
“I told him someone came through trying to rob us for a couple keys. At first he was trying to be cool about it, but when we wouldn't budge, he got mad and pulled his heat out.”
    “Fuck did he look like?”
“White boy, skinny, and he seemed like he was some cokehead.”
“Did you get the impression that he wanted it to smoke, or like he wanted it in order to sell?”
“Like he wanted to sell it, because he was trying to cut a deal and shit. Like on some repeated basis. He wanted to pay us some money weekly for product.”
“And you didn't ask him any questions like why or who he was working with or for?” I frowned.
“Yeah, Mick did, and he just said he wasn't working with no one or for anyone,” Sass shrugged.
“Fuck! Look, if you hear the names Portland or Sonny mentioned, let me know immediately. Hit my line as soon as you hear that shit aight?”
    “Aight, I got you, boss.”
I left out and then got into my car to head back to the theatre. I had no idea who was behind this shit, but I knew that white kid was sent to do what he did. Thank God Sass and Mick were seasoned and loyal, because any other nigga would've cut a deal. Someone was trying to sell our product and take our territory at the same time, and I wasn't sure who. Blow said Portland and Sonny had their own shit, so why would they send someone to get ours? Shit! I was so lost, and that was not a good fucking sign.

Chapter Six: Jersey
    The next afternoon…
Unbeknownst to Kill, I was meeting with my brother to talk. Kill didn't want me speaking to my brother for some reason, and before we'd somewhat made up I was cool with that. I had a feeling it was because his cousin had stolen Ivy, and in my opinion that wasn’t reason enough. But now, after thinking, I realized that being apart from Portland would make my mother very unhappy. Raleigh opened her big ass mouth when she went to visit her, so when I went she got on me about not speaking with my brother. I couldn't say I was only doing this for her though, because I did in fact miss him.
I walked into Firestone Roasting House on South West Street, and spotted Portland sitting down already. Adjusting my purse strap on my shoulder, I made my way over to him. We exchanged smiles, but when he got up to hug me, I put my hand up to stop him. We definitely were not there yet, and I didn't know if we would ever be.
“Okay,” he chuckled lightly as he sat back down. “How are you?”
“I'm good Portland, you? Anything new going on in your life?” I raised a brow, wondering if he was gonna tell me he'd gotten some bitch pregnant. Ivy had already informed me, but I doubt his dumb ass knew that.
“Nah, just been living my life and shit, missing you though, Jersey.”
    “Whatever, Portland.”
“Are you guys ready to order?” A waiter appeared and set down two glasses of fresh ice water. We put in our order, and then once he walked away, we turned our attention back to each other.
“So why am I here, Portland? I know you didn't miss me that much, you never wanted to hang out like that unless you needed something from me.” I cocked my head.
“Not even, I just wanna know how life is going for you? Is that nigga treating you right or what? You've always been very easygoing Jersey, and from what I hear, Kill Cam isn't. I wanna make sure he's not taking advantage of you.”
“He's not, and when have I ever been one that someone can walk all over,
