headed out to see what Ryan was doing. He walked into the barn and found him crouched down beside Bella, wrapping her leg with the bandages designed to keep the thick paste of the poultice clean. He was talking to her, calming her with his voice, and Jake stopped to listen.
“I dont know, Bella. It looks like both of us lucked out when we met Jake Evans. I know he saved your life, and Im pretty sure he saved mine too. I was so lonely, Bella, and I never thought I was gonna find anyone. I dont know where this is going, and it scares the hell out of me, but I am pretty sure I am in love with someone I have only known for a couple of days. I dont know how he feels about me, and I am not sure what to call him yet, but I dont care. Ill take what he can give me and give him everything I have.”
When he was done wrapping, he stood up, walked over to the sink set against the wall, and washed his hands. He looked around for something to dry them on and, finding nothing, dried them on the bottom of his shirt. Jake must have made some kind of noise because, all of a sudden, Ryan whirled around to look at him, eyes wide and nervous, wondering how much Jake had heard.
Jake just smiled and sauntered toward Ryan, grabbing his hips and pulling him flush with his body when he was close enough. Ryans arms went automatically around Jakes neck, pulling him in for a kiss.
“How about boyfriend?” Ryan looked confused but hopeful. “You said you didnt know what to call me. How about boyfriend?” His heart was pounding, waiting for Ryan to say something.
Ryan grinned his thousand-watt grin and attacked Jakes mouth, pushing every ounce of love in his body into that kiss. “Really?” He pulled back to look into Jakes eyes. “You wanna be my boyfriend?” He looked almost shy, waiting on Jakes words.
Jake leaned down and kissed Ryans nose. “Yep, I do. What about you, you wanna be my boyfriend?” He knew they sounded like teenagers, but he couldnt have cared less.
“Of course I wanna be your boyfriend.” Ryan gave Jake another intense kiss. “Why, Mr. Evans, you gonna pin me?” Ryan was joking in his best Southern accent and was completely caught off guard when Jake pushed him up against the wall and grabbed both wrists, pushing them over his head, holding them still.
“Thats a hell of an idea, Mr. Andrews!” He pushed up against him, effectively pinning him to the wall. He leaned in and nuzzled his nose into Ryans neck, drawing in his smell. Ryan smelled like horses, leather, and something he was assuming was the smell of the poultice he made. It was sort of sweet and spicy smelling, but underneath it all, he could smell the faint scent of sex. Ryan hadnt showered since their little pit stop that afternoon. He licked a strip from Ryans collarbone to his ear, wondering if he tasted as good as he smelled. He did.
“Mmm, youre my new favorite flavor, Ryan.”
Ryan smiled and angled his neck to give Jake better access. “Well, I aim to please.” His voice was hoarse and thick with need. Ryan had never been so horny in his life. Not even when he was a teenager.
Jake nibbled on an earlobe, causing Ryan to gasp. “Oh you do, you please me a lot, beautiful!” He licked and kissed his way around Ryans throat to the other ear, earning himself a hot blush that he could feel against his lips.
“M not beautiful,” Ryan moaned. He tried to duck his head but was stopped by Jakes hand on his face.
“You are beautiful, Ryan.” He was very sure about that. “Not in a girl sort of way. But in a hot, caring, yummysmelling, all-man kind of way.” Each word was punctuated with a gentle kiss on Ryans face.
He rubbed his cheek against Ryans, giving a little moan at the feel of stubble against stubble. “I love the feeling of the stubble on your face against mine. I love the strength in your hands when youre touching me. I love how youre strong enough to push back when I push against you.” He rolled his hips against Ryans. “It makes me feel
