misused the company’s pension on a bad business deal, which sent this company and all of us down the rabbit hole. There was nothing I could do to stop him.”
“UGH!” I yelled as I paced around the room. “If we don’t go to the authorities about this, we’ll go to jail. Not just me, but you!” I pointed at him.
“And that is why we have to get that money back into the pension fund. It’s the main reason we need Nathan Carter.”
“You think Nathan Carter is going to want anything to do with this company once he finds out that my father stole the pension funds?”
“He doesn’t need to know. He’ll invest and we’ll take the fifteen million dollars and put it back.”
“And what about the rest of the money we owe to the creditors? Not to mention the fact that we no longer have a vineyard supplying us grapes. I can understand now why my father had a massive heart attack. Fuck. I’m going to my office. I need to calm down and think.” I grabbed my purse and walked out.

Chapter 19
    Fiona

This was a nightmare. A nightmare that was never ending and one I couldn’t wake up from. As I took a seat behind my desk, my phone began to ring.
    “Hey, Lydia.” I sighed.
    “Are you okay?”
    “No. Actually, I’m not.”
    “Business?”
    “As always.”
“I was hoping you could go with me Monday to my first doctor’s appointment. I’m a little nervous and I need my best friend with me.”
“Of course I’ll go. What time is your appointment?”
    “Eight o’clock.”
    “I’ll pencil you in.”
    “Thanks, Fiona. I love you.”
    “I love you too.”
Just as I ended the call, I looked up to see Nathan leaning against the doorframe of my office. Crap . He was so sexy, but I couldn’t deal with him right now.
“I love you?” His brow arched.
    “I was talking to Lydia.”
“Are the two of you in some sort of relationship I should know about?” He smirked.
Bringing my forehead to my hand, I spoke, “We’re having a baby.”
“What?” he exclaimed as he stepped inside.
“I mean; she’s having a baby. But she’s like a sister to me, so we’re having a baby.”
    “What about the father?”
“He’s a lying scumbag who wasn’t even from L.A. He lied to her, and then left and deleted his profile. Typical man.”
    “How did they meet?”
    “Tinder.” I rolled my eyes.
“Well, there you have it. Tinder men are all lying scumbags.”
“Correction, all men are as far as I’m concerned. Tinder or no Tinder.”
He looked at me with narrowed eyes. “What’s wrong? You’re in a mood.”
“Nothing.” I sighed. “Just another clusterfuck of a day at Winslow Wines.”
He looked at his Rolex. “The day just started.”
“And?” I arched my brow. “What are you doing here?”
“I bring to you my business proposal and the solution to all of your problems so you won’t continue to have clusterfuck days here at Winslow Wines.” He handed me a large envelope. “Look it over later when you have a clear head.”
    “Thanks, Nathan.”
“You’re welcome. I have to go. I have a meeting to get to.” He walked over, kissed my forehead, and left.
The touch of his lips against my skin sent riveting pulses throughout my body. Seeing him in his designer suit, looking all handsome and sexy, made my day a little brighter. For a second, I forgot that my father stole the money from the employees’ pension fund.
“UGH!” I placed my hand on each side of my head.
“Fiona, are you okay?” Josh asked as he walked in.
“No. No I’m not okay, Josh. You know why I’m not okay. Do I look okay? I’m stressed. I could go to jail. This company could be shut down in a split second and I don’t know what to do!” I yelled.
“Calm down. You can’t make rational decisions by being so upset. Listen, take the rest of the day off. Go somewhere quiet where you can think.”
“Good idea.” I pointed at him as I grabbed my purse and the envelope Nathan handed me. “If anyone asks, I
