forearm.
Maybe it wasn’t best to start a conversation about this while he was driving. As I went over everything in my mind, I tried to figure out if any of this was really my fault.
I didn’t think I was at fault for letting Dix tie me to the bed. I had no way of knowing he would leave me there alone…or that his brother would come back early from his trip.
But what about the things I’d let Mason do to me in the office? I’d taken my clothes off in front of him. I’d allowed him to punish me right there on his desk.
But I hardly knew Dix when all that started. I certainly didn’t know we’d both want a relationship.
And of course, there was the fact that I was completely man-starved and horny by the time I came to Houston. I couldn’t figure out if that part was my fault or not.
Dix inhaled a big breath and glanced my way.
“Do you want me to drop you off at home?”
“No,” I said. I didn’t bother to remind him I was homeless until Monday.
We were nearing the Galleria area where I knew he lived. I needed to go home with him. I was sure that if we left things like this now, our relationship would be over before it really got started.
“Dix, that was a major misunderstanding back there. I never wanted your brother. It was always you, even when I didn’t think you felt the same way.”
He pulled into the driveway of a fancy townhome and pressed the garage door opener.
Once we were in the garage, he turned toward me, his eyes narrowed.
“I could believe you if I hadn’t seen your hand there on his…” He couldn’t bring himself to repeat it. “I have no doubt that if I’d shown up a minute later, you’d have already guided him into your wet little cunt.”
“Really?” I said angrily. “After last night, that’s what you choose to believe?”
“In my experience, women will play on all your weaknesses to get to you. I swore I’d never be that big a jackass again.” He got out of his truck, so I followed him through a door into a small, bright kitchen.
“Can I at least explain how it happened?”
“No.” He walked over to the glass dinette table and flipped through some mail.
I shook my head in frustration. “Dix, I’d do anything to prove to you—”
He stopped what he was doing and looked straight into my eyes. “Anything?”
His expression made me pause before I spoke. A thought had occurred to him and I knew it was related to the anger and revenge and jealousy he felt toward me and his brother.
A montage of our intimate experiences flashed through my head, from the first time he made me bend over his desk to the beautiful lovemaking last night.
I couldn’t let him slip away now.
    “Anything,” I said hoarsely.
“Let’s test out that theory.” He grabbed my wrist and forced me to follow him down the hall into one of the rooms.
When I stepped through the door, I realized it was his home office…and the desk looked oddly familiar.
Dix noticed me staring at it. “It’s the same style my brother has in his office,” Dix said. “When we started the company, he ordered the big one for him and had the smaller version put in my office. Of course, I couldn’t have that, so I ordered my own, but this one was perfect for home.”
He placed his hand on my lower back and propelled me toward it. “Maybe it will help get you as hot as you were in Mason’s office.”
This was a trap. Of course whatever Dix did to me would arouse me, but if it took place on the twin to his brother’s desk, he could claim I was thinking of Mason.
    “Dix, can’t we just—”
“No. We can’t.” Dix pressed the front of his body against the back of mine, pushing my hipbones against the Mahogany desktop.
“Did you know I could hear you sometimes?” His finger traced down my back, through the robe. When it reached my bottom, it traced figure eights on one of my butt cheeks.
“No…I didn’t,” I replied. After what we shared last night, it made me sick to my stomach to
