To Live Again
desperate for something to hold on to, and resisted the urge to thrust into his mouth. His head bobbed over my cock. His fingers slid in and out of my ass. Then they…moved. Bent? Something. Somehow, they were different now, and they pressed against the spot inside, and suddenly my eyes were rolling back and my spine was off the bed and I heard myself curse as I came in his mouth.
Everything went white for a moment. I dropped back onto the bed, and slowly, as Sailo lifted his head and withdrew his fingers, my vision came back into focus.
“Jesus.” I wiped a hand over my face. “That was…unreal.”
He came up beside me and rested on his elbow. “So it lived up to your expectations?”
“Lived up to?” I laughed, sounding and feeling a little drunk. “More like blew past them.”
He chuckled and kissed the top of my head. “Good. As it should be.” He paused. “I mean it—I’m glad you came back. I’ve been thinking about the other night. A lot.” He grinned, though there was a touch of shyness in his eyes. “I was hoping for the chance to fuck you.”
    “Didn’t disappoint, I hope?”
“Not even close.” He pressed a soft kiss to my lips before settling back onto the pillow. “It’s been a long time since I’ve gotten to take my time like that.”
    “Really?”
He nodded. “That’s half the fun of someone’s first time—going extra slow and enjoying every minute of it.”
Well, I didn’t enjoy every minute of it, but damn, once we’d crossed that line from ouch to oh yes , it had been well worth it.
He sat up a bit and stretched. “I don’t know about you, but I could go for another shower.”
    “Me too.”
We started to sit up, but the room listed slightly, so I sank back onto the pillow.
    “Okay, maybe in a minute.”
He lay beside me. “You okay?”
    “Yeah, yeah. A little dizzy.”
“That’s okay.” He guided me back down and kissed my cheek. “We can lay here for a minute. I’m not going anywhere.”
“Good.” I wrapped my arms around him and pulled him down into a kiss. “Because I like you right where you are.”
    “Yeah? Me too.”

Chapter Ten
By the time I left Sailo’s apartment and made it back to Ethan and Rhett’s, it was nearly four in the morning. Which meant I needed to get up and get ready for work, like, now. That might’ve been doable in my college days, but not anymore.
I left a little white lie in my boss’s voice mail, claiming to have come down with some upper respiratory thing that I didn’t want to share with the office. I assured him it was a mild one, that I’d most likely be back to work tomorrow. As it happened, my voice was probably pretty convincing too—for some strange reason, my throat was pretty raw.
Then I collapsed into bed, and that was it.
It was almost eleven when I crawled out of bed. Ethan and Rhett were long gone to work, so I had the house to myself. Sailo and I texted throughout the day, but he had his son for the afternoon and was working this evening, so I wouldn’t see him until tomorrow night.
As long as I was playing hooky from work, I indulged completely. I took full advantage of the guys’ Netflix password, which they’d given me the day I’d moved in, and lounged in their living room in a pair of sweats. I even ordered from one of the local sandwich shops that did home delivery. As my youngest son would put it—laziness level: expert.
Half an hour or so before Rhett was supposed to get home, I finally made myself presentable, texted him and Ethan to let them know I was making dinner tonight, and went to the supermarket a few blocks away. By the time they’d both arrived at home, I had some chicken cooking and a fresh six-pack in the fridge.
So, maybe it wasn’t the best use of the company’s paid time off, but it felt pretty fucking good to enjoy a day of doing absolutely nothing besides cooking for my friends. It was, I realized, the first time I’d done that since Becky kicked me out. Every
