down to his lap and I fell quickly asleep.
“What the hell is this?” Noelle’s voice wakes me from a nice restful nap and startles Walker. My eyes find her pointing to the coffee table. “Get your feet off my furniture!”
Giggling at his shocked expression, I try to smooth things over. “Noelle, this is Walker. Walker, this is Noelle.”
“THIS is Thunder Tongue?” She asks calling him by our secret name we gave him.
“Thunder Tongue?” Walker’s interested eyebrows raise.
“Oh my God, Noelle.” I shake my head hoping the earth will swallow me up.
“Yes,” Noelle answers Walker. “So, Thunder Tongue, get your feet of my furniture.”
He allows me to sit up and then takes his legs off the table and stands. Putting his hand out, he tries to shake Noelle’s. “Nice to meet you, Noelle. I’m, ahem, Walker. The baby’s father.”
I think I literally just swooned.
“Nice to officially meet you too, Walker. I remember seeing you at the bar, but you are much hotter than Erin screams out in her dreams.” She extends her hand to his and they shake. “Also, if you want to make it to see the birth of your baby, you best not put your legs up on my coffee table again, or any other table in this house for that matter.”
“NOELLE!” I yell as Walker nods his head with a chuckle.
“I’m just dropping by to get some stuff. I’ll leave you two lovebirds alone to get reacquainted. Though what you were doing looked very boring.” She waves her hands walking towards her room.
“I can assure you that the day was VERY eventful, Noelle,” Walker retorts. “I wore her out. Just giving her a break before round two.”
Stopping dead in her tracks, halfway down the hall, she backs up giving him a megawatt smile. “I like him, Erin, but housetrain him or he is going back to the pound.”
Noelle gives a cocky glare, throwing her blonde hair over her shoulder and walking back down the hallway.
“She’s a trip,” Walker states, standing up reaching down for my hand. “Let’s go lay down, baby.”
My heartbeat rapidly picks up. My shaky hand grabs his and uncertainty washes over me not knowing if I really want him to stay or not.
“Uhm, I need to clean up the kitchen,” I stall, hoping he doesn’t hear how breathless I am.
“That can wait until the morning,” he says pulling me up so I am flush with his body and placing his hand on the side of my neck. Thank God, he’s going to kiss me again!
“No, it can’t,” Noelle’s voice booms, sauntering back into the living room, killing our moment. “The dishes need to be cleaned up now. You want bugs crawling around this place?”
Walker smiles at Noelle’s back leaving the house. “Go get ready for bed and I’ll clean up,” he says and turns towards the kitchen.
    “But, it’s my...”
“No ‘buts’, Erin,” he says whipping back around and placing his hands on both sides of my face. His mouth is intimately close to mine. “I’m going to say this one time, and one time only. You are carrying my child. That means we will be in each other’s lives for the rest of our lives, like it or not. And for the rest of our lives I want us to be a family. A couple. The mother and father of a beautiful baby boy or baby girl, raising them in the same household. So, please. I only have six very short months to show you how amazing that can be and I want to start right fucking now.”
“You only want that with me because of this baby.” Not wanting to look at him any longer, I look down finally revealing my hidden fears to Walker. “One day you will realize that and leave me, or cheat on me, or...I don’t know.”
“Look at me, Erin,” he softly whispers, and I obey, lifting my eyes to his. “I am not him. I am not Robert. It’s not fair to put me anywhere near the same category as that asshole. He was stupid. He didn’t realize what he had when he had it. I realized it after only one night with you. Do you know what we could have? Love, a
