house? What really happened in just one week?" She gave me a serious look.
"Uncle Sam invited her for dinner, so...yes, I kissed her in my house, and then I slept with her this morning."
"But today is Wednesday. It doesn't fit your ritual."
"Fuck the ritual, it's all messed up now. I didn't sleep with anyone this Monday because I saw her with someone else.”
"So you were jealous.” Nina looked at me with surprise.
"I don't know. And somehow, I asked her to lunch today, and I don't know what should I do now. I don't want to let her so deep into my life. She could ruin me like Tonya did."
"I think you’re being paranoid. Tell me, do you see Tonya when you look at this girl?"
"No more. I used to see Tonya in her, but not now.”
"Great god, don't let your past influence your life anymore. I think you’ve met a nice girl, whom you really like. And if you let Tonya ruin this one, you're going to regret it later." She took a deep breath. "Tonya cheated on you two years ago, and you’re still letting her affect your life."
"I don't know. Maybe I'm afraid." And that's why I liked Nina, I could open up in front of her. She was more than a therapist to me, like a friend.
"I'm perfectly fine by you clinging to your past and remain afraid because that's human nature. But at what cost, Noah? Do you want to lose this girl? Remember, this one is the first you’ve kissed after Tonya left you dry. I think it means something. Life is giving you hope. And I think you should embrace this chance."
I looked up. I saw hope for me in Nina's eyes. "Are you sure this will work? What if she is using me for my money?"
"Did she kiss you, or did you kiss her?"
"I kissed her, and then she responded."
"Then I don't think she is using you for money. And even if she is, I would still suggest giving it a try. "
She made sense. Julie didn't look like a girl who would be after my money. She’s such a nice girl. My cock jerked up at the thought of her again.
"I think I will take her to lunch. Thanks, Nina. You’re my star."
"And I will send you my bill.”
"Come on, I thought you’re doing this for free."
"Owner of the Orange Computers, telling me to give a free session to him. What a joke?"
"Jokes aside, I have serious work for you."
"You want me to assess your new girlfriend?"
"No. I have just acquired a cancer care hospital. I want you to work with me, on the board of directors.”
"You need a cancer specialist, not a psychiatrist."
"I need a friend who understands medicine. And I'll pay you well."
"Hm. Let me sit on it for some time and think some more."
"I'll meet you again tomorrow. And this time, in your office, to go over this. And very much thanks for your help." I extended my hand.
"If I say yes, we have to end these sessions. Remember, we can’t have a personal relationship outside of therapy. And I hope that this girl will help you to do that." She winked her eyes.
"I hope that, too, Nina. I really do.”

Chapter 19

    Julie

My mind dwelled on various questions about the sex I had with Noah. Hooking up with anyone in L.A. was a big no-no for me, and yet I already fucked Noah. The worse thing was, I loved it. When he removed my bra, the only thing I could think about was his naked body pressing on mine.
I didn’t have any answers. He was handsome, but so were many people at the club. He was the most arrogant man I had ever met, but then, he was tender hearted too, with a soft side no one knew. The irony was, I hadn't planned for anything like this.
Eddie was the reason I came to L.A. in the first place. When I came here, I decided I wouldn’t look for any relationship, and no hook ups. But everything I planned got washed up, like a small piece of paper in a big river. And I didn't even regret it, because sex was awesome. He was awesome. When he burst inside me with his raw power, I felt like I was flying on a rainbow.
And then there was lunch. I was looking at a pile of dresses I took out of my closet
