Stalking Shadows
there’s only one intelligent entity that occupies the home—the entity that tried to pull Kelly into the basement.
The two little boys by the ditch, the little girl that runs through the house, the men hanging in the garage and barn, and the eerie sight of the ghosts of the Native Americans roaming around the property, would be considered a residual haunting, in my opinion. Residual hauntings aren’t ghosts; they represent the energy of past events, replayed over and over again.
It’s the entity in the basement that personally has me intrigued. While it may appear to be a violent, malevolent spirit, I’m not convinced it is. I believe the spirit is desperate.
Given that facts of the land and house as we know them, it would make sense that either the housekeeper’s or missing husband’s body is hidden somewhere in the basement, and is frantically trying to get someone’s attention.
As I understand it, the only two places a body could be hidden in the basement of the house are in the sealed cistern or in the sealed old coal room. If you really examine this case, it’s about the only thing that makes sense.
The spirit has, at least twice that we are aware of, tried to get someone into the basement. Once, when it pushed Kelly’s friend toward the basement stairs and again, when it tried to pull Kelly toward the basement.
A desperate spirit will exhibit seemingly violent behavior, when in reality the poor spirit is only trying to get someone’s attention.
The paranormal team I belong to, Black River Paranormal, intends to visit this site in the summer of 2014, and try to determine what exactly is going on there and, perhaps, rescue a spirit that is in desperate need. We know very few people know about the house, well … up until now, but we also know that because we’ve protected the property by not giving out the location, it will be there waiting for us when we arrive. We also know that there aren’t any paranormal teams in the area or who know the location of the property, so it will be a virgin ghost hunt—meaning it’s never before been investigated by a ghost hunting team. Ahhhh, paradise!

Chapter 9
    The Haunted Land
Our paranormal investigation team, Black River Paranormal, was called out to a house by a woman and her husband. They’d been experiencing a plethora of paranormal activity that included being pushed, shoved, and scratched while in the house.
We arrived at the modular house early in the evening and, when we entered the property, discovered that the woman’s sister and her three adult children were also present. While none of these other people lived in the home, it was good to have them there, as they had all experienced some type of paranormal activity in the house.
While the team began setting up the equipment and two other members were talking to the homeowners, I walked through the house to get a feel for the energy and to see if I could locate the spirit they were complaining about.
As I walked through the house, I couldn’t help but notice all the religious symbols displayed throughout the home. There were numerous crosses on the walls, a large open Bible on the coffee table, along with a Bible in every room, including the bathrooms, and bowls of sea salt in every room. These people were terrified—that much was obvious.
Because the house was small, it wasn’t hard to hear the conversation going on in the dining room. The homeowners, whom we’ll call Shelly and Rodger, were experiencing a surplus of paranormal events.
Rodger reported being pushed several times while he was in the bathroom, and Shelly felt like she was constantly being watched by a malevolent entity. In addition, items were being moved or sometimes thrown across a room, some of the crosses would fall off the wall without explanation, and the Bible on the coffee table would be violently slammed shut by something unseen.
Shelly and Rodger were convinced they had a demon, but I wasn’t so sure.
