Stalking Shadows
place, or house to house, the spirit attached to that object would move right along with it.
To make matters worse, the young woman was emotionally unstable, and any etching she did on the mirror would only serve to invite a negative entity through the mirror and into their home.
Certain types of entities feed on negative emotions, or emotional upheaval, which feeds the entities and can make them stronger and more powerful than they already are.
My advice to the family was to immediately get rid of the mirror they’d brought with them from the other house. The wife was reluctant to do so, but the husband grabbed the mirror, took it outside, and shattered it into a million pieces in the garbage can. He then removed the garbage can from the property and drove it out to a local landfill where it remains to this day. Since the husband got rid of the mirror, the family is not experiencing any further paranormal activity.
My friend, whom I’ll call Kelly, lives near this house of horrors; she found the reported paranormal activity at the house irresistible, and is the person who initially told me about this house. So of course, she had to go check it out for herself.
She was curious as to whether the removal, and eventual destruction, of the mirror that once resided over the mantel had caused any paranormal activity to stop completely. Since the house was not lived in, and completely void of any furnishings (not to mention the home had been condemned), she made a beeline for the property.
Upon arriving at the house, she first inspected the garage. As she explored the space, she heard a noise behind her and turned around to see the shadows of two men hanging from the rafters of the garage, slowly swinging back and forth like pendulums on an old grandfather clock. Frozen in place, she stared in wonder at the two apparitions for a few seconds before snapping herself out of her trancelike state, and quickly exited the garage. Kelly isn’t sure how long the apparitions hung around, pardon the pun, but she didn’t stick around the garage long enough to find out.
Undaunted, she walked across the yard to the farmhouse. Upon entering the house, Kelly walked around the living room, not really noticing anything out of the ordinary.
She wandered around the second floor of the old house, tentatively checking every floorboard for sturdiness before taking each step, as the house was condemned and not in very good repair. Again, everything seemed to be in order, so she headed back down the staircase and into the kitchen.
As Kelly roamed around the kitchen, the air became heavy and she was finding it hard to breathe. It felt as though all the air in the room was being sucked out by a vacuum.
Deciding to leave, she headed for the door to the back yard that lay on the opposite side of the kitchen. As she passed by the basement door, an unseen arm grabbed her around the waist and tried to drag her into the basement!
Kelly struggled to get free as this unseen entity inched her closer and closer to the basement stairs. Kelly was terrified and wrestled frantically to get away. She realized it pointless was to try to grab an arm she couldn’t even see.
“Let go of me!” she screamed, and with one final burst of energy she broke free from the entity and raced out the door in a blind panic. She leaped into her car and raced out of the driveway, only stopping when she felt she was far enough away to be out of the reach of the house and the entities that resided there.
After Kelly caught her breath, she called me and relayed the details of what just happened to her.
While I sympathized with her experience, I also admonished her for going out to that place by herself, knowing what type of seemingly dangerous paranormal activity occurred there. Kelly hasn’t been back to the property since her terrifying encounter with the unknown entity.
While it appears that this house and property have an overabundance of paranormal activity, in reality
