whispered back. “That should take the edge off for awhile,” he said as he wrapped his hands around my biceps and gently pulled me into an upright standing position.
I was wobbly on my feet and my legs threatened to buckle as soon as I stood up. I bunched my hands into the t-shirt at his chest to hold myself up, but Roan was right there and cradled me tightly against his chest. He may be a lot of things but I knew he wouldn’t let me fall into a tangled heap on the floor.
“Where are we going?” I asked.
“Well, I don’t know about you but I’d rather blood bond with you in my bed instead of your teenaged pink nightmare of a bedroom. It just doesn’t feel very manly, you know,” he said sardonically.
“I don’t know what blood bonding is, but I don’t want to do whatever it is or anything else with you for that matter. Put me back in my bed, Roan” I said, panic filling me as I struggled weakly against his hard chest.
    “Aspen…”
“No, you’re nothing but a cruel, heartless liar Roan and I hate you!” I said as I thumped on his chest as another burst of heat threatened to reduce the blood in my veins to ash.
“Ahh, I see you’ve found that spirited moral fiber, that I love so much. Apparently I didn’t give you enough,” he said as he sat me back down, pushed me backwards onto the bed and got another needle from the rucksack on the floor.
“After this wears off and the change is finally complete, you and I are going to sit down and have a very long and serious conversation, little girl.”
I tried to swat at him with my leaden arms as he turned me over and shoved me into the bed, face first, with his knee at my back. I was helpless as he shoved my panties aside and he stabbed me in the ass with the needle. “Where the heck did my pants go and who took them off?” I grunted as my bones turned to rubber under Roan’s newest assault.
He turned me over and flashed a bright light in my eyes. “There we go, that’s a good girl. You’re nice and relaxed now, aren’t you?” he chuckled softly as he got off the bed, slung me over his shoulder and carried me into his room.

    Chapter 15

    ~Aspen~
Pulling back the covers, Roan set me down gently on top of his bed. The sheets felt soft against my skin. I looked up at him and watched intently as he started unbuttoning his shirt and discarded it carelessly on the floor. His chest was heavily muscled and the muscles in his abdomen rippled as he bent over and untied his boots. Powerless to stop him or do anything about it, I decided to throw myself fully into enjoying the show.
I watched him with intense interest, as he got undressed, my bones liquid and warm as I lay tangled in his sheets. Through the drug induced haze, one thought kept resonating in my head as I watched him unbutton his jeans.
Roan’s body was perfect and he was the sexiest man that I’d ever laid eyes on.
“Oh my god, what was I saying? What the heck was in that needle anyway?” I turned my head away from him, trying to shake my head to clear the traitorous thoughts that clamored for validation.
No, no, no, things weren’t supposed to be happening like this. Not with me nearly naked in Roan’s bed and about to blood bond, whatever that was. But I suspected from the current state of our respective undress, that it involved touching one another, or possibly even sex.
Tears sprang up in my eyes, I didn’t want Roan to touch me. I hated him. Didn’t I? He’d devastated and destroyed me so completely before he’d left Spruce Hollow. He’d used me and toyed with my emotions, all while having another girlfriend.
“No, please Roan,” I whimpered as he pulled my panties down my legs and flung them onto the floor. They landed into a pile with his jeans and shirt.
“Things are not the way you seem to think they are, Aspen. I know I hurt you and you’ve been angry with me for a really long time and I’m truly sorry for that,” Roan
