at the keys in her hand. “Oh, thank you. I-I’m
glad you enjoyed it.”
    “I
enjoy all your shows. You perform with such genuine pleasure. But today was
particularly spectacular.” He moved closer and she forced her head up as a hand
pushed one of her dark brown locks behind her ear. “What were you thinking of
to make you come so explosively?”
    Grace
gaped as she met his green gaze. Did he know? Had he somehow figured out it was
him she’d been thinking of? Surely not. And he’d watched her more than once.
Why? She really didn’t see herself as spectacular . She swallowed as she
considered how to answer. With a shrug, she released a small smile. “Oh I don’t
know. Just stuff, you know?”
    “No,
I don’t know. But I’d like to.”
    She
frowned. “I don’t do one on one stuff, Mr Olsen.” She flicked a pointed glance
at her watch. “If you’ll excuse me, I really need to get going.”
    Jett
moved aside in a move that Grace hadn’t really expected and took the keys from
her unresisting hand. Opening the car door for her, he pressed the keys into
her palm and motioned for her to get in.
    “I
won’t keep you.” A twisted smile slid across his sexy lips and it struck Grace
how much it changed him. “But I would like to offer you a proposition.
Something to think on. I won’t press you for an answer now.”
    Grace
clutched her arms about herself as his gaze skimmed over her. Funny how she felt
more vulnerable and exposed with her jeans and coat on when he looked at her like
that than when she was up on stage.  Curiosity got the better of her and she
leaned back against the car, mimicking his earlier stance. “Okay, what is this
proposition then?”
    “I’d
like to help you, Gracie. I’ve heard that you’re having a few problems with
Greg Fletcher.”
    Body
rigid, Grace gave him a wary look. What did he want with her ex-husband? And
how did he know about the problems she was having? “Things have been a bit
tense with my ex, yes, but what’s it to do with you?”
    She
knew she sounded rude and defensive but her life had been a nightmare since
she’d left Greg. He wanted access to Beth even though the courts had denied him
it. He was a drug user and a waste of space. Honestly, she wished she’d never
got involved with him but she’d been young and foolish and blinded by his
musical talent. She snorted inwardly. Not that it had ever got him anywhere.
    “Tense?”
Jett questioned. “So him hitting and stalking you isn’t a problem?”
    A
hand flew up to her face, her cheeks hot. She felt as if she’d been hit all
over again. “H-how did you know about that?”
    “I
know a lot of things.” His jaw tensed. “You did the right thing leaving him.
You’re a special woman, Grace, and no woman deserves to be treated like that.”
    Grace
blinked. Who was this man and why was he talking to her like that? She’d never
even reported the time Greg had hit her. She’d just upped and left, moving back
in with her mother who helped her once Beth was born. But then he’d started
following her, sending threatening notes. Once the divorce went through, the
courts took his visitation rights away after one too many arrests and cautions.
But that didn’t stop him from trying to see Beth or her. Some days, he just sat
outside their house. Thankfully he didn’t know she worked at SinSity or he’d probably
be sat outside there too.
    “I
really don’t think it’s any of your business.” The last thing she wanted was to
get more people involved. Knowing Greg, the situation would just escalate. Life
wasn’t great, but she had things under control. Well, she hoped she did anyway.
    “I
can make it my business.”
    The
dark look in his eyes sent a chill through her. “What do you mean?”
    “I
can make sure Greg never lays a hand on you or your daughter ever. You will
never see him again.”
    “I
don’t want him killed!”
    Jett
let out a disparaging laugh. “I’m not in the business of murdering
