phone off. Are you saying me leaving her with Cillian was a bad idea? I tried to get him to leave before I left for Vegas but she insisted he stayed with her.”

She laughed on the other end. “Sounds like Syd. All I can tell you is that nothing has happened between the two of you that can’t be fixed. Is she angry? Hell yeah because you keep shutting her out and you have to stop doing that. But she isn’t perfect either and her hormones have her all over the place.”

“I know they do and I feel terrible about what has happened between us. I love that woman so much and I’m afraid I fucked up big time when I left. I was such a fucking prick but I plan to make it up to her. I will do everything in my power to make sure she knows how much I love her before the end of the day.”

“Kaz, she already knows how much you love her but you have to allow her the freedom to be her own person and make up her own mind.”

“What are you talking about? I give her plenty of freedom!” he snapped in a derisive manner.

“Oh, you do ?” Talia wondered with enough snark and bite in her voice to keep him from responding. “You didn’t ask her how she felt about moving to Las Vegas—you merely told her there was an opportunity for the band there and if the deal was sweet enough, you were going to take it. Did you ever once stop to ask her opinion about the issue? Never mind you know she would have said yes but that isn’t the point. You acted like a goddamn caveman and frankly, I am getting a little tired of all you cocky fucking Cox men.”

“Listen, whatever Jaden did to you has nothing to do with me—”

“Really? You two talk all the time and if you really wanted to, you could have convinced him to leave Faith by now. We both know she is poison; she isn’t good for him to be around and her continued drug use threatens his sobriety. Yes, he’s been good up until now but I have to walk around egg shells with him and take his calls at all times of the goddamn night because that’s what you do for people you love.

“Love is really ugly; it’s selfish, mean, all-consuming and strips you to your bones. It can also be beautiful and uplifting and wonderful but consider the fact that I am pregnant, I have to work with my ex-boyfriend almost every day and I am flat out exhausted. Do I sound like someone who should have gotten five hours of rest last night because Jaden called me at three and I haven’t been able to sleep?”

Kaz felt terrible about calling and getting Talia involved with the mess he’d made for himself. She didn’t need this crap in her life when she was already dealing with too much shit on her plate.

“Listen, I shouldn’t have called. I just wanted to say I’m sorry and I will lean on Jaden to make a decision. The way he’s strung you along makes me angry. You’re a good woman, Talia, and a welcome addition to the family.”

“Thanks. Drive carefully and call me when you get back to L.A.”

    “I will.”

He ended the call and stepped on the gas.

As far as he was concerned, he wasn’t moving fast enough and he couldn’t wait to get back to his comfortable bed with the woman who loved and adored him snuggled in his arms.

    Devil in My Bed

IT WAS MIND blowing what a man with an amazing tongue could do to a pregnant woman’s body. Too bad it wasn’t my fiancé but his brother and the worst part was I didn’t much care it wasn’t Kaz who pleasured me more than any man ever had.

If anyone had told me anyone else besides Kaz could make me feel so good, I would have told them they were crazy. However, Cillian was a skilled lover and the way he took control, I couldn’t have resisted him if I wanted to, and unfortunately, I had no inclination to deny him any part of my body.

Although I knew what we were doing was so wrong, it felt right, I did have some decorum. The moment his tongue
