Shaking her head of any doubts, Annie started serving their dinner determined her thoughts would not ruin their night.
Sipping coffee out on the balcony first thing in the morning while watching the sunrise over the ocean was like a dream to Annie. It was the most magnificent sight she had ever seen and one that was bound to stay with her forever. After dinner the night before and a magical night being worshiped in bed by her Surfing God, Annie couldn’t believe life could get any better. She had no idea if her relationship with Cam was just a holiday fling or something more. This man made her feel like anything was possible. He made her smile and laugh. He was able to cheer her up when she felt down and he seemed to know exactly what to say to make her swoon. ‘ Of course he did. He’s been around a lot,’ Annie thought. Cam had women falling at his feet. Annie was still puzzled over who exactly Lana was, too. She hadn’t mentioned her visit to Cam. She honestly didn’t know how to bring it up or what to make of it all. She was curious about who the woman was to Cam but she was reluctant to ask him for fear of ruining the wonderful time they had been having together. Taking in a deep breath of the salted air, Annie held it in and then let all her negativity out when she released it. She closed her eyes and smiled. “Morning, Nashville.” Annie sucked in a short breath and jumped a little before Cam took her in his arms engulfing her with a hug from behind. He had a little chuckle. “Didn’t mean to scare you.” “I’m fine. Good morning.” Turning her head to the side, she looked up into his gorgeous blue eyes. He leaned in and kissed her sweetly. Each kiss he gave her still made her weak at the knees. Cam pulled back and tightened his arms around her more. He leaned his chin on her shoulder and both stared out at the morning view of Bronte Beach. “So, what plans have you got today?” Annie asked him. “I thought I would take you on a trip up the coast. Time to take you out of the city and to a place where you can really relax.” “Mmm. Sounds wonderful.” “Great. Let me cook you some breakfast and then we can pack and get on the road.” He pulled away from Annie and slapped her butt before going inside. Annie could hear him whistling and smiled. He seemed as happy as she was. Not the actions of a so-called playboy at all. She was confused but decided just to let things take their course. No need to rock the boat while they were both in seventh heaven.
It took less than two hours for them to eat and pack. Returning from his next-door neighbor’s where Bowie was going to be staying, Cam tossed their bags into the trunk of the Jeep and flashed a sexy smile her way. Annie’s heart tugged and flip-flopped every time he flashed his pearly whites at her. She never felt like she was anything particularly special, but he sure made her feel like she was his whole world when that smile flashed across his face. “You all set to go?” Cam asked her. “Yeah, I think so.” Biting her lip, Annie got in the Jeep. Nervous excitement was coursing through her veins. She had put all of her trust and faith into this guy she hardly knew, but never once did she question her safety while with him. She was happy, secure with decisions, and ready to take on her next adventure with her sexy surfer. Starting the engine up and giving it a few revs, Cam reversed the car out of the driveway and onto the road. It wasn’t long before Sydney was left behind in their wake.
The white lines in the middle of the highway zipped past at a breakneck speed while the beat and sounds of David Guetta pumped out from the stereo. The journey up the coast had so far been pleasant but the further they went, the faster the butterflies in Annie’s stomach fluttered. She knew Cam wasn’t telling her the complete truth about what they were doing and it wasn’t sitting too well with her. “So where exactly are we
