tell him the bad news.
“Sir, I think we may have a problem. We are unable to reach Bram. He called for more men after Ludwik went to protect Wendy and we can’t find him now. He and Sadie have disappeared; Bram is not answering his radio. What would you like us to do?”
“Search the area where they were last seen. Look for anything. They have to be here somewhere.”
With that the guard left and the search for Sadie began. Sebastian knew he had been fighting off an uneasy feeling this last hour, and now it was confirmed. Why can’t they all just let us be to enjoy our lives? He opened his mind to send Sadie a message.
My Love , are you okay? Where are you? And then the noise started. It was a metallic deafening hum. He had heard of the hum before. It was meant to stop Manduragos from communicating psychically. He swiftly blocked his mind before it became too much to take. He needed to find her and quickly. Lars was undoubtedly making his move and she was in trouble. Someone had gone to a lot of trouble to keep us from communicating.
He called to Ludwik and the rest of the men. It was time to gather everyone up and find her. No matter what the costs , she was not going to Lars .   I would never let that happen.

    Chapter Twelve
“Good news , Kali Princess, my father is coming here personally to get you. He wants to marry you right here in this room.” Talia walked over and played with my hair. “You are uncommonly beautiful . Y ou will make an excellent mother to me. You know , my last mother liked me better than my father. We were extremely close . S he would visit me at night.” She reached down and ran her finger down my collar bone and over my shoulder. “I hope you like me , too. We can have a lot of fun together.” She leaned over and smelled my hair, again tossing it a bit. “I will look forward to your hair being draped over me as hers was. Maybe even before my father gets here. I would love to keep you for my own, but two princesses don’t work well together. You need to give our family children . T hat is your job in our hierarchy. My job is to give you pleasure.” She leaned down and kissed my lips softly then bit hard, drawing blood from my bottom lip. It hurt, but I stayed strong and tried to look as if it didn’t faze me. I knew that showing any sort of weakness would be to her liking. “I’ll be back later.”
I la y there feeling helpless. I was tied to a bed and in a very vulnerable position. I couldn’t contact Sebastian or even tell him there was a problem. The only person that knows I’m here has turned out to be a traitor. It dawned on me that that Bram had been the one to take Talia into custody that day. I guess no one thought to check to see if he actually turned her as he said he would.
Not sure of what I should do, I closed my eyes and wept. Not loudly, not so that anyone would know but just to myself. I wept for all that I was losing, for the feeling of helplessness I was feeling and for fear that soon Lars would be there and claim me. If he performs the ceremony, he can marry me whether I say so or not, and there is nothing Sebastian or I can do. I will be a Dracco and I cannot live like that. I knew if that happened I would have to end my life , which in turn would end Sebastian’s.
“You are stronger than this…you are meant for more than this…you need to be brave little one…all things work out as they should.”
I could hear the voice in my head and it felt familiar somehow, yet I knew I had never heard it before. In front of me a creamy haze of shimmering lights appeared and swirled around the bed. They turned and circled , creating a faint outline of a person.
“You are more than you know you are. Why do you think everyone wants you so badly? The only one that doesn’t recognize her powers is you. Kali , my darling, awaken your powers and help yourself.”
The spirit in front of me came into clearer view, still transparent yet fully there…she was
