body relaxed and he laughed a little. "That works" He said as he pulled me around into his lap and cradled me.
I gave him a quick peck on the lips.
"I'm gonna make your plate." I said.
"I can do it" Jase said.
"I want to" I said as I got up and walked to the cabinet to grab our plates.
"You trying to spoil me?" He said with a wink.
"I want to take care of you Jase" I said and then I watched him get out of the chair and walk over to me.
"It's my job to take care of you" He said as he wrapped his arms around me.
"How about we take care of each other" I said as I squeezed Jase tight.
"I can handle that" He whispered in my ear as he kissed my lobe.
"Now sit" I said as I smacked his ass.
Jase sat down and I made our plates and brought them to the table.

Chapter 10

It was a girl’s night in for Sam and I. Jase and Moon went hunting for the night. I told them they were crazy because it was freezing outside, but there was no stopping them.  There was a rare winter storm coming. Well, rare for Texas anyway. The weather was expected to get nasty later in the week, just in time for Thanksgiving. But for now, it was just bitter cold.
"So, what are your plans for Thanksgiving?" I asked Sam. "Is Joe coming home?"
"No, he can't leave." Sam looked sad. "I haven't seen him in over two months, I miss my daddy."
"Awww." I said and put my arm around Sam. "I'm sorry honey;"
"What are you and Jase going to do? I'm guessing you have a plan."
"We're just going to cook at his place, but we can do it here. You can help me cook."
"Actually, Moon asked me to go home with him for Thanksgiving." Sam said with that familiar look of fear.
"Really?" I said my voice full of excitement. "You didn't run away when he asked did you?"
"No asshole" She laughed. "I told him I'd go."
"Sam, I'm so proud of you!" I said as I gave her a hug.
"Yeah Yeah" She said as she walked into the kitchen. "You want a glass of wine?"
      "Sure!" I yelled
"Have you ever made a turkey?" Sam asked with her eyebrow cocked as she handled me a glass.
"No" I said with a giggle. "But I'm sure I can handle it"
"Don't burn the house down ok" She said as she took a sip.
"I can't make any promises" I said with all honesty.

    Thanksgiving Day
"It's really coming down out there" I said to Jase as I stared out the window. It was snowing and everything was starting to turn white. It was beautiful. This didn't happen very often around here. "I hope Moon takes it slow on the road, the news said they were bad."
"They'll be fine baby" Jase said as he walked up behind me and put his arms around me.
The turkey was in the oven. I said a little prayer and hoped for the best. I was so excited to spend today with Jase. Even if my food sucked, today would still be a good day. But I hoped that wasn't the case, I wanted to impress my man.
Jase grabbed my hand and put a small box in it.
"You got me a present?" I asked, I couldn't keep the excitement out of my voice.
"It's Thanksgiving." He said. "And I have something to be thankful for."
I opened the black box. There was a beautiful white gold necklace. It was a puzzle piece and it was inscribed. "I found my missing piece" My eyes immediately filled with tears.
"I love it Jase. It's perfect" I wrapped my arms around him and squeezed him tight. "You're amazing."
      "I love you" He said.
"I love you too. And thank you so much. Will you put it on me?" I said as I handed him the necklace.
"Yes ma'am" He said as I pulled my hair up. He kissed my neck and then fastened the clasp. I rubbed my fingers across it. It really was perfect.
A couple of hours later, I was busy in the kitchen. Everything was coming together. I just put a pumpkin pie in the oven. The turkey was turning golden brown. That had to be a good sign. Jase was busy sampling everything I made. Everything he tasted
