his apartment.
I smiled over my shoulder at him. “Yes please. Surprise me.”
    “Got it.”
As Colton made his way to the kitchen, I walked into the living room. In the corner, I saw a family photo that I hadn’t noticed the last time I’d been to his home. I picked it up and I looked at the people who I assumed were the Davis family. The older man and woman looked at each other adoringly while the teenage girl and a six or seven year old boy sat in front of them. The children in the picture looked like the perfect combination of the parents who stood behind them.
Now they look like a happy family, I thought as I studied the picture. I wonder if Mom and Dad were ever happy? They seemed happy when we were younger, but I guess you never really know the inner workings of people’s marriages.
Pulling my cell phone out of my back pocket, I opened the email conversation between me and my sisters. I reread their words and with a sigh, I started typing.
“Why would you want to see that sham of a wedding take place?” I mumbled under my breath as my fingers flew furiously over the touch screen. I had written a paragraph before I realized I wasn’t alone.
“You okay?” Colton asked, pressing his body flush against mine, his front to my back. I quickly locked my phone, turning the screen black.
How long has he been standing behind me? Did he read what I had written? I wondered nervously as I nodded.
Sitting the glass of golden brown liquid down beside the picture, he wrapped his arms around me. I leaned back into him and he just slowly rocked with me. It felt good to be in his arms like that.
Clearing his throat, he broke the silence. “That’s Mom, Dad, Corrine and—”
“Of course, that’s you,” I interrupted, pointing at the miniature version of Colton. “Your smile is exactly the same.” I leaned to the side and looked up so I could see his face.
He laughed. “Well I have adult teeth now, but I see what you’re saying.”
Laughing, I turned in his arms so we could be face-to-face. “You are ridiculous.”
    “And you love it.”
Lifting me unexpectedly, Colton threw me over his shoulder and spanked my ass three times. I squealed in his arms and moved around haphazardly. Although I couldn’t stop laughing, I protested as he walked in figure eights in the living room chanting, “Time to pay up!”
Carrying me into his bedroom, he dropped me with a thud onto his mattress. Propping myself up on my elbows, I strained my eyes to see him in the darkness of the room. The soft glow of the living room light made it possible to faintly make him out. The room was absolutely quiet except for my steady breathing.
I felt his hands wrap around my ankles and then suddenly pull me so that I landed on my back again. The swift motion caught me off guard and caused me to yelp. Removing my shoes, he leaned over me and unbuttoned my jeans. He pulled them off roughly and then I heard them drop to the ground.
I felt exposed laying in front of him in only a skimpy G-string and my loose fitting top. He rubbed his hands from my bare feet up my smooth calves and then back down. Unexpectedly, he started to tickle my feet causing me to thrash around wildly.
“Stop,” I laughed, twisting on the bed. “Stop! I give up. I’m sorry! I don’t know what you want from me!”
He stopped his vicious attack on my feet and I took the brief reprieve to catch my breath.
“I want you to answer any questions I have,” Colton said. His voice came out in a sexy, rumbling tone that worked its way up my body.
I don’t know about that… I thought, considering his demands. I’ve already slipped up and told him way too much about myself. And I don’t know how much he saw when I was typing my response to Marisa and Mikaela. He knows too much. I’m going to have to distance myself—
“Your hesitation leaves me no choice,” Colton warned, interrupting my thoughts. Grabbing my foot, he tickled me again and I burst into a fit of
