Kye's Heart
Beowulf’s place. Skylar and Braelyn left early this morning to catch a flight to Paris. Braelyn had a photo shoot. Dirk is off doing who knows what, since Saskia ordered him to take some time off. And Leif and Jaden are holed up in their room. From what I understand, Leif is doing his best to make her forget she got angry at him for what he’d said about her dad.”
“Hmm,” Ansely said to Roan. “Maybe I should get mad at you and have you make it up to me in the same way.”
In a sudden move, Roan slung his wife over his shoulder. “You don’t need to pick a fight to get that.” With sword in hand, he walked toward the house and disappeared around the corner.
Michaela looked at Kye to see him shaking his head. “Does he do that to Ansley often? Just throw her over his shoulder and go?”
“Actually, no. Only once in a while. Anyway, those are a few members of my family. You can meet the others later, though not Skylar and Braelyn, since they probably won’t be home for a couple of days.”
    “Braelyn is a model?”
“Yeah. Does the name Braelyn Whitmore mean anything to you?”
Michaela nodded. “She’s a Victoria’s Secret model. You mean to say she’s married to Skylar?”
Kye grinned. “She is. They haven’t been together for very long, though.”
“I do have to say your family isn’t exactly like everyone else’s, with sword practice in the backyard and famous models in residence.”
“No, we aren’t the conventional family, by any means. Let’s go inside and I’ll show you my room, which will also be yours.”
“Only if I agree to move in.”
Kye leaned in and kissed the tip of her nose. “I’m going to work on that right after I have my shower.”
With his t-shirt draped over his shoulder, he put his arm around her waist and guided her toward the mansion. Michaela’s heart sped up just thinking of the ways Kye would try to persuade her to say yes.

Chapter Nine

Kye didn’t let Michaela go until he’d taken her upstairs and had both of them locked behind his bedroom door. He crossed over to his walk-in closet and threw his sweaty t-shirt into the laundry hamper inside. He also sheathed his sword in the scabbard hanging up among his clothes. That done, he turned back to Michaela. She stood in the middle of the room.
“So?” he asked. “What do you think?”
She looked around, her gaze seeming to linger a bit longer on the king-sized bed than the rest of the furniture. If he had his way, and he figured he would, Kye would have her spread out naked on the thick mattress in the next little while.
Michaela closed most of the distance between them and began staring at him. “Well, it looks as if you have lots of extra space for two people to share the room comfortably. Even the bed.”
Kye focused on her mouth. “It really does. After my shower, how about we test it to see just how well the two of us will fit on it together?”
She placed a hand on his chest and stroked her thumb back and forth. “Better yet, why don’t I join you, then we can move to the bed. I could use a good wash.”
His cock twitched, hardening at Michaela’s offer. “Really now? I happen to be the perfect man for the job. I’ll make sure no part of you gets missed.”
Michaela gave him a sexy smile. “I had a feeling you wouldn’t turn it down.”
Kye took her hand and led her into the en suite bathroom. Even though they’d made love numerous times during the night, he still wanted her as desperately as he had then. The desire to possess his mate, it was almost a living, breathing thing that would always remain a part of him. With the mating bond firmly in place, there would never be anyone else for him. He was as much Michaela’s as she was his. He loved her with his whole heart and soul. He would do anything to keep her happy and safe, to the point of sacrificing his own life if need be. Mated male werewolves were noted for being overprotective of their claimed females at times. It
