anything, but that.”
I shake my head as I see this haunted look in his eyes.  I don’t know what to say to him.  I just shake my head and smile.  I keep looking at his lips.  I can’t help but look at them.  I want them on mine.
“Anna, baby. If you keep looking at my lips like that I don’t know if I can contain myself. I want to kiss you,but I am trying to be a gentleman.”
“Oh, I, um. Let’s go eat.” I blush again, grab my clutch and walk out the door. This is going to be quite an interesting night.

I swear this woman is trying to kill me.  The whole way to Texas Roadhouse I kept thinking about the way she eyed my lips.  If I didn’t know any better I’d think she was undressing me with her eyes too.  Now I’m thanking God that I like to run and stay in shape.  I keep trying not to look at her slender stomach underneath that see through shirt.  Why in the hell did this come back into style?  I think it’s just to give guys like me heart attacks.  Now here we are eating in the restaurant and it’s driving me crazy because my eyes aren’t the only ones on her.  I swear I will kill that bastard in the black cap if he looks at my woman one more time.
“Wait what?” I look up at her and try to focus on what she’s saying. I’m being rude, but I can’t get over all these assholes staring at her.
“I was just asking how Jameson was.”
“Oh, he’s getting better.  He still has his moments, but I think he realizes that he just isn’t meant to be with Mary-Beth.”
“Yeah, I still fume when I think of how she left him.  It makes me so angry.  I tell her all the time you can’t just quit when the going gets tough.”
Well, I like that scenario, but I wonder if my Sunshine will be there for me when she finds out what I really am. I’m a monster who lives off of alcohol and cigarettes. I may even be crazy after seeing Kyle last week. I have been taking my medicine though, seems to be helping a little bit. I take a sip of the Bud light I ordered and raise my glass to her.
“So, do you quit when the going gets tough?”
“I’m a red-head.  Stubborn as all get out.  I should have probably ended my friendship with Mary-Beth years ago.  I just feel sorry for her.  She’s been through a lot and she needs someone to be there for her.  Ya know?”
God, this woman knocks me to my knees.  It makes me regret all the things I have done.  The five women I used to try to cover pain that they couldn’t erase.  Two of the women, I didn’t even know their names.  I let out a huff as a response and she lifts her fork to eat her steak.  Now, this is something else that attracts me to her.  She didn’t order some rabbit food.  She ordered a damn steak and is tearing it up.  She isn’t the woman who’s worried about her stomach showing and being not so fit.  She is tearing up the steak and not giving a shit.  The little moans coming out of her mouth as she eats might be my undoing.
“I don’t know her whole background, but I do know that she’s pretty damn lucky to have someone like you.”  I give her hand a squeeze and finish eating my own steak.
After dinner, I pay for our meal and open the door to the Rover for her.  I watch as her jeans squeeze that sexy little ass of hers and I can feel my jeans starting to get a little snug.  I walk around the back of the car so I can make a few adjustments, then slide into the driver’s seat.
    “Mind if I smoke?”
“Not at all, this is your car after all.”
“If you don’t like it I won’t do it in front of you.”
“Blake, be normal. I don’t smoke, but I won’t stop you from it.”
Damn, I think I may be falling in love with this woman. I really should make this official. I grab my cigarettes, pull one out lighting it up and rolling the window down enough to where it won’t blow all over her. I inhale and look over at her. “You know you are the most beautiful thing I have
