night before flashed through her mind, and she looked deep into Stewart’s eyes.
She was wil ing to bet that he was thinking about the night before as wel .
When he lifted his fingers, it was to replace them with his mouth. The kiss was gentle, exploratory, but also possessive, and he ran the tip of his tongue along the inside of her lips. The action made her core flutter expectantly. She wanted him. She wanted them both—her body eager for more of the passionate exploration the three of them had shared the night before. Her head tipped back and her lips parted, inviting him closer stil . His tongue stroked over hers, and that made her want to wrap around him, completely.
When he eventual y drew back, there was a serious expression in his eyes. “He’l be a mess,” he whispered, “when he stops to think about it.”
She nodded, and the knot of concern that she carried for Joshua got a bit bigger.
Stewart observed her silently, while he trailed his fingers over her neck and down as far as the curve of her waist and hip. It was gently inquisitive.
She cupped her hand around his shoulder, taking physical comfort from his sheer size and strength. There was something so comforting about lying there in his embrace. His body—so fit and strong—suggested security to her. The world wasn’t as simple as that, of course, but she al owed herself the moment to bask in his male strength and beauty, with the sound of Joshua’s stable breathing at her back reassuring her everything would be al right.
Deep down she knew that this only complicated matters for Joshua. Even as she had fal en asleep in the early hours, resting between them in a haze of post-orgasmic bliss, she knew that the doubts were already crowding in on him. She also knew that he’d wanted it, wanted the three of them to make love, and he’d accepted that and al of its complications. Dealing with the fal out was what he wasn’t sure about. Then again, neither was she. Guilt weighed heavily on her. Had she led the situation? Had she influenced it and come between two lovers who were already struggling to come to terms with their situation without her becoming involved?
Meeting Stewart’s gaze, she braced herself. “Perhaps I should leave before he wakes,” she whispered, “and give you two some space?”
“No, that would be wrong. Besides, I don’t want you to.” Again he kissed her, and the passion in it made her wish the setup was different, that the three of them were in a private space, not in Joshua’s family home, where Stewart wasn’t even supposed to be in the room. She was the interloper here.
“Thank you,” she whispered, as they drew apart.
Stewart shook his head. Thank you , he mouthed.
His gaze drifted over her naked torso. She didn’t need a psychic link to be sure of this man’s desires and motives. He put Joshua first, of course, but he was attracted to her and he obviously had no regrets.
“We’l muddle through the goodbyes then take it from there.” He glanced over her shoulder at his slumbering lover. “Josh tends to get subdued at first, when something is on his mind.”
“On the outside, maybe.” She made the comment without thinking, and Stewart looked at her quizzical y.
Before she had a chance to respond, Joshua stirred at her back. Her last comment had woken him. She tensed, but Stewart immediately took control, reaching across to put his hand on Joshua’s chest, with her trapped between them.
“Good morning, Stud. It’s about time you rejoined us.” His tone was light and teasing, and Hol y tried to take the same attitude, smiling at Joshua fondly as he awoke. Her senses were, however, honed for his reaction to the situation—the morning after the night before and al its repercussions.
    Recognition flared in his eyes.
Before he had a chance to say anything, Stewart continued. “So how do you feel, waking up with both a man and a woman in your bed. First time, right?”
    Hol y wondered if that
