way I drive?”
She swallowed. Memories of yesterday’s remarkable car trip spun through her mind. Evan had been as forceful as Derek ever was, first as he licked her and then as he held her hips and drove her straight toward a mind-shattering orgasm. She struggled to catch her breath.
“I like the way you drive, Evan. Very much.”
He looked like he wanted to say something, his blue eyes warm and his cheeks a bit red. He wore his emotions on his handsome face. It didn’t take long for her to discover that. It was another difference between him and Derek. Together they were in perfect complement, though. She was completely and utterly ruined, but she couldn’t envision more perfect men to ruin her than her two gentlemen.
Derek had avoided her at dinner last night, aside from hot glances she prayed no one else intercepted. She’d tossed and turned in her guest chamber, the fine linens rubbing over her skin in the most irritating fashion. Her body seemed more alive now, more attuned to her surroundings and the way it moved. The rasp of silk over her nipples, the stroke of her fingers over her clit. The mere thought of Evan’s mouth on her pussy, of Derek’s lips at her breasts, made her soar. And afterward, when she and Derek had both taken Evan. She’d never imagined such a thing was possible yet now she couldn’t wait to do it again. To her astonishment she’d brought herself to pleasure! She was seized with crushing loneliness afterward, though. Last night she’d had an ache in her heart that had nothing to do with her empty body.
Evan hummed as he worked on his beloved engine, a lock of golden hair falling over his forehead. His brow furrowed in concentration, and it struck her. She loved him! God, she loved him and she loved Derek. How had this happened?
She focused on the twisted and bumpy things beneath the bonnet, silently wishing her foolish heart to cease its racing. What did he find so fascinating in there?
“Evan, what is this?” she asked, pointing to a thing with hoses snaking out of it.
Evan set down his rag and stood tall. He raked his fingers through his hair and spread his hands. “I don’t know.”
    She blinked. “What?”
“Diana, what Derek and I shared was incredible. But what we share with you?” His eyes held such affection her pulse skidded to a stop. “I care very much for you. I think I might even—”
“No!” she cried, holding her hands in front of her. “I didn’t mean that!”
His brow furrowed again, and she fought the urge to smooth it with her fingers. “What?”
“I was asking about this thing,” she said, gesturing toward the engine. “I wasn’t asking you to make some sort of declaration.”
His mouth turned down, and she longed to kiss it.
“I thought you wanted to know…” He shook his head. “I’m sorry, Diana.”
Silence stretched between them, and then she took a bracing breath. “Did you mean what you said, Evan?”
He swallowed audibly and nodded. “Yes.” He raised a hand to her face and stroked her cheek. “I care for both of you, actually.”
The words stuck in her throat. She didn’t just care for Derek and Evan. She loved them.
“I must return to the m–manor,” she stammered.
Evan kissed her then stepped back. “Don’t fret, love.”
She lowered her gaze. “Good day,” she murmured. She turned and took measured steps toward the opened door. She was sure of her own heart and confident Evan could love her despite the fact that she’d given herself to two men. As for the other man? Derek would never love her. He’d said as much time and again.
It was a pity she didn’t want to live her life without both of them in it. Once out in the bracing autumn wind, she started to run.
And stumbled straight into Derek’s arms.

Derek caught her flush against his chest. She was trembling, but it couldn’t be from the chill in the air. No, something was bothering her.
    “Diana, what is it?”
    Her eyes welled
