Jenna started to laugh, but quickly realized that would just aggravate an already emotionally charged situation so she just discreetly moved toward the door.
As she was leaving, she heard Zach’s desperate voice. “Kitten, what on earth is going on? We were only gone a few minutes, did you miss us that much? Alex, we’ll have to make sure one of us is with her at all times. This can’t be good for her or the babies.” Jenna froze. Oh shit…they weren’t going to tell her about the fact she was having twins until after her sonogram. Oh, big brother, you’ve stuck your foot in it now.
Jenna realized too late that silence had fallen in the room, and when she took a quick couple of steps to make her escape when Kat’s voice sounded loud and clear. “You freeze your happy ass right there, Jenna Beth.” Jenna turned to see her friend’s laser sharp focus shift to Alex and then to Zach. “Want to catch me up, Zach? Alex? Jenna? Hmmmm?”
Jenna knew a cluster fuck when she saw one, and her big brothers were so not throwing her under the bus this time. “I have no idea what Zach is talking about, Kat, but I’d sure be interested in knowing the answer. But I promised Selita I’d help her set up tonight’s Tex-Mex buffet…so I really need to be going.” Before Kat could protest, Jenna darted through the door, closing it quickly behind her. Breathing a sigh of relief, she was still chuckling to herself when she met Colt in the hallway.
Colt had heard the conversation on his headset and knew Jenna had lied to Kat and left her brothers to deal with their pregnant wife who had been on an emotional roller coaster almost her entire pregnancy. The security team had already placed their bets about multiple births, dates, times, and gender in a grid so sophisticated it was going to take a supercomputer to figure out the winner. “Pet, did I just hear you lie to your best friend and sister-in-law?” He wanted to laugh out loud at the way she went instantly pale and took a step back. Oh yeah, you just handed me a perfect excuse to spank that sweet ass, and my palm has been itching for a week.
“Um, well, yeah, I guess so, but they always throw me to the wolves, and I didn’t want her to be mad at me when they were the ones who made me swear to not tell her. You know they are worried about her blood pressure and all…” Jenna hadn’t even realized Colt had backed her up until her back was pressed against the door of the suite they were sharing while the addition they would use as a permanent residence was completed.
“I thought I’d made myself perfectly clear about the fact that lying, in any form was something I would punish you for?” Reaching around her to open the door, he leaned close to her ear and whispered, “I’ve been itching to feel my palm slapping your bare ass for days, and you just gave me the perfect reason to warm you right up. Oh, pet, you are going to be squirming in your chair tonight at dinner.” He’d backed her through the door and closed it, and when Jenna heard him flip the lock, she felt her pussy liquefy instantly. “Strip.” Colt’s one word command almost had her coming on the spot. She knew he wasn’t really angry with her, that this was a great excuse to play then fuck her senseless and she could hardly get out of her clothes fast enough.
After interrogating the trespassers and discovering they had indeed intended to silence the prosecution’s principle witness against them, Colt’s team had turned them and their taped confessions over to local deputies. Of course the confessions had required some creative editing on Grayson’s part. They didn’t want the statements being thrown out of court just because they’d been encouraged by a couple members of his unit who were well trained in persuasive information-retrieval techniques. Colt already briefed Mitch and agreed that a few more days at the cabin would give them a chance to make sure these two losers didn’t have a
