precise.”
Dominic stepped up to glance over Megan’s shoulder. The closeness of his body had her eyes closing briefly, inhaling his ocean-fresh scent. She opened her eyes and tried to focus, wishing he would take a step back and give her space. He didn’t.
“You mean to tell me that our boy Mason here was fucking a vampire?” Dominic said, a hint of surprise lingering in his words.
Turning to face him, she glared up at him, his close proximity alarming to her senses. “You have the most unprofessional way of saying things, you know that?”
He arched a dark, curious, but wicked brow.
Zane answered, “Yes, that’s exactly what we’re saying. Mason and our mystery vampire had had sex.” He paused, shifting to face his audience. “It would appear that it was not just a one-night stand.”
Now, she hadn’t considered that. Mason and the vampire had been in a relationship.
Meeting her gaze, Zane continued sharing his thoughts with her. “The bite marks on his body are at different points of healing, evidence that he’s been with the vampire more than once.”
“Who says it’s a woman, or the same woman, for that matter?” Reyes pointed out.
Dominic’s face distorted as if he were about to be sick. “Dude, please don’t turn into Ryken. I don’t think I can handle it. Especially since we both just had se—” Megan kicked his shin. The heat of embarrassment flooded her cheeks once again as she glared at him. The intensity of her gaze could have melted his face clean off. He coughed, understanding her irritated stare and said, “Never mind.”
That was a first. Dominic wasn’t the sort of man to back down from her. He hadn’t cared what she did or how he hurt her in the past. Had sex with her changed him that much or was it the mating connection they now shared? Regardless, she liked that he didn’t want to insult her or treat her like he hated her.
Damn it, she inwardly groaned. She didn’t want the mating shit to be a good thing. She wanted to despise everything about it, but she had to admit the sex was amazing, and the way both Dominic and Reyes looked at her as if she hung the moon left her feeling breathless and a little dizzy. Maybe she needed to rethink her approach with these men and the bonding. Maybe she needed to accept that she enjoyed sex with them. However, they had to know that expecting anything else from her went far beyond what she could offer them. The sooner she explained what she was willing to accept from them the better.
“I’ve measured the bite radius, and the three marks are from the same vampire,” Zane said in response to Reyes.
“So it does look as though we are looking for a vampire,” Megan said, returning her thoughts back to the dead body lying in front of her on a cold metal slab.
“Do you think the vampire knows Mason’s dead?” Reyes asked. His voice filled her with dread and more questions than answers.
The room fell silent for a moment before Zane said, “I’m pretty sure it does. I’ve heard…and read about a link between a vampire and the person the vampire shares blood with. If this vampire cared anything for Mason, the link could’ve been very strong. I’d also bet anything that the vampire is going to be very pissed at us for killing him.”
Megan swallowed hard, suddenly very glad that she had Dominic and Reyes protecting her. As if sensing her need, both men were at her sides in seconds, touching her for comfort, and strangely, it soothed her, but not enough for her to ignore the fact that things had just gotten a little more fucked up for them.

Dominic went down to the lounge to grab a cup of coffee for him and Megan. Reyes could get his own damn cup of coffee for all he cared. He flexed the muscles in his hands as the image of Megan’s body writhing on her desk flashed in his mind. The memory of her pussy gripping his cock had him growing harder and painfully aroused. As an alpha-primed lycan, he had a ferocious
