every woman’s dream.” She looks up at me with a sexy smile, and it sends electricity straight to my cock. I need some alone time, or get-to-hold-her-close time.
    “Follow me.”
I take her by the hand and head towards the music. Jazz plays, and I’m thankful it’s a slow song for obvious reasons. I twirl her around under my arm the minute we reach the dance floor, and I’m rewarded with the most beautiful smile and a giggle that lights up my heart. Oh, fuck. This woman could really hurt me.
I pull her close and sway in perfect steps, gently leading her. I hold her tight in my arms.
    “Boyfriend, huh?” she says.
    “I was making a point.”
    “And what point is that?”
I lean into her and whisper, “That you’re mine.” I feel her shiver.
“Promises, promises.” She shakes her head.
“Never underestimate me. There’s nothing stopping me from throwing you over my shoulder and taking you to bed.”
“That would certainly teach me not to mouth off,” she says with so much sass I want to do just that.
Before the first song ends, I see Walter approaching. He’s persistent. So I take the time to claim what’s mine. I slow to a gentle sway and take her face in my hands, pulling her mouth to mine for a full-on caveman style kiss. All thoughts of Walter flee from my mind. What’s left is just her. That sexy mouth, our tongues playing, our breath quickening, and our hearts pounding. I would fight like an animal to keep her.
I’m not even close to showing this woman how much I want her.
“We made our appearance, we shook hands, and talked business. I think it’s time to go to our room.” I lick her neck, taking in her sweet taste and the scent of flowers. “Lavender?”
    “Yes.”
“It’s sweet, and sexy.” I nip her neck.
“Let’s get out of here,” she says, staring into my eyes.
I lift her hand to my mouth and kiss her palm, sliding my tongue over it.
“You’re exceeding the speed limit with that move,” she whispers.
    “Too fast?”
    “Never.”
With no Walter in sight, we make it back to the room in record time. I allow her to walk in first. Turning, she reaches up to kiss me and I collide with her full force. I want her.
“Wait,” I say, now feeling anxious and almost shy. Fuck, I’m going to have to turn in my man card. “I have something for you.”
She looks surprised, and I love all those sexy blond curls falling down her back.
    “You do?”
I nod to where a beautiful, elongated box sits. It’s wrapped in baby pink paper and tied with a pink ribbon. A single white rose sits on the lid.
She gasps like a little girl and I feel like I hit a home run.. “It’s beautiful, Nathan.”
“You haven’t even opened it yet.” I laugh, my smile growing bigger every second.
She looks up at me and there’s a question in her eyes.
“I want to make this memorable. Open it, baby.”
    “Such a charmer.”
We both sit on the couch. She picks the gift up, takes the rose off, and brings it to her face to inhale the fragrance. She sighs then gently tears the paper away from the long blue velvet box and slowly opens it. Her lips part and she takes in a breath.
“Oh my God! Nathan, I love it!” Bryer pulls out the fragile white gold necklace with a small crystal heart on the end. “Did you know my mother collected crystals? How could you possibly know?” She looks at me with tears in her eyes.
“I didn’t know, baby. I just followed my heart. Let me put it on for you.”
Her reaction brings me joy, pure fucking joy.
“I’m a guy. Since when do we get it right the first time?”
She lifts her hair and turns while I do the honors. “This is amazing! Thank you so much.” She gushes and turns to kiss me quickly before running to the closest mirror to admire it. I smile as I watch her.
    “You shouldn’t have,” she whispers.
“I want you to remember our time away together.”
If she only knew how long I’ve had a thing for her. Quite honestly I didn’t know
