Sit down." He assumed it would not take just a minute if she wanted only him to hear what had to be said.
"I would rather stand." She rested her hands on the back of the chair.
"That was not a question." Philip was always in charge. Not just to the littles, but he also held a wealth of power over the nannies. "Sit."
Nanny Mae nodded her understanding and walked around to sit in the upholstered chair. "I believe I know why your little is showing signs of arousal," she said.
"Do you?" His expression grew grim. "If she is touching herself, you know that the responsibility lies with you to stop her."
"I know, and I made a mistake," Mae said.
"What kind of mistake?" Philip asked. He came to stand in front of Nanny Mae, perching on the edge of the wooden desk. "Elaborate." He did not ask her kindly, as it had been her duty to keep Etta in line.
"I may have gone to restrain her after she touched her quim, but then, I do not know how to explain what happened…" Her words trailed off and her cheeks burned as she stared down at her hands in her lap. "I may have been the cause of that source of arousal."
"You?" Philip pushed himself further from the desk. "I trusted you with my little Etta."
"I know." Nanny Mae nodded. "And I assure you it was consensual."
"That is beside the point. As a little at this school, she has given up the right to make decisions for herself. That is why she is here, to learn to regress as a child would. Abusing her does not fit into our curriculum!"
Nanny Mae's eyes shot up to meet his and she sat up straighter. "I did not abuse Etta." Her words were terse and she gritted her teeth, seething.
"Do you love her?" Philip was not sure he even wanted to hear the answer. Etta was his little one and no one else's.
"As a little, but nothing more," Nanny Mae said, shaking her head. "I do not know what came over me."
Philip had a pretty good idea what had come over her. She had grown heated and filled with lust. Staring at a woman's breasts and quim, spanking her—all had finally got to her in the same way it got to him. Not that he could tell her that. He could not be all right with what had happened. There had to be consequences, but firing her did not feel appropriate. "You will work in the eastern wing from now on. I do not want you to see Etta again, is that clear?"
    "Thank you, Headmaster Philip."
She had to know he had saved her job, and a small part of him loved Mae in a way that showed affection and warmth, like a child loved a precious doll. She had been the security that he had needed to ensure him time to grow, accept his role as headmaster, and now as papa. He needed a nanny for Etta, but it would not be Nanny Mae. Her time with the littles was over.

Chapter XIII

Etta stood stark naked in the lonely bathroom. Papa and Nanny Mae had left her alone, but for what reason? Were they going to discuss what had happened between her and Nanny Mae after her nap?
The door creaked open, and Etta stared at Papa as he stalked into the room, looking displeased.
"Where is Nanny Mae?" she asked.
"Gone." He gave her no hint of anything further.
Etta's brow furrowed and the first hint of tears surfaced in her eyes. She had not been fond of Nanny Mae at first glance, but the woman had worn her down, and she respected her. "Where did she go?"
"That is not for you to worry about," Papa said. "You will have a new nanny looking after you by tomorrow. In the meantime, I am going to take care of you."
Her heart skipped a beat. She would much rather have Papa look after her. "Do I have to have a new nanny?" She'd even be pleased to have Nanny Mae back. She was not so bad, and Etta did not have the slightest clue who else Papa would hire. Would it be someone worse, with harsher discipline and a stricter hand to her bottom?
"Yes, child. I cannot watch over you and the entire chateau without a little help." He kissed the top of her head. "Your fever seems to have broken. Let's get you into
