Cursed
the potion’s bottle from her
pocket, just as the room filled with mist and the same red hellish
glow as last time.
She opened her eyes and pulled the stopper
from the bottle. He must have heard her, for he opened his eyes as
she threw the liquid on his face.
McIntosh screeched as she began yelling her
chants, focusing her energy upon Conall and her deep desire to see
him once more.
Her own light and mist began to circle the
room with much larger force.
She looked to him and knew instantly she
needed to retrieve his ring. It was his talisman, and she needed to
destroy it!
Leaning forward and ripping the thing from
his finger and hearing him screech for it back, she looked about
the swirling red room and saw the statue.
She ran for it and placed the ring upon the
table. Repeating her chants, she picked up the heavy object and
raised it above her head. Seeing her aim, she then slammed the
statue down upon the ring, and it smashed into pieces.
    “Nay!” he screamed.
However, it was too late. His body was
contorting into an agony she had never seen before. The air
thickened with death as shadows came from the walls and grabbed him
around every inch of his body.
Shaking she moved to the couple and held
them.
“Nay! This ‘twere no’ how it was supposed tae
be!” he yelled.
However, it was no use. With her spell cast
and the angry spirits within the house now released, he stood no
chance at disappearing into the air. Dead and gone hopefully, the
room suddenly filled with brilliant light and wonderful
feelings.
She saw many people walk from the walls. Some
old and a few young, it was her family.
Her heart soared at the sight. There were
centuries of past relatives coming from the darkened corners, now
lighting the room with their souls.
Addie cried because the feeling was so
beautiful. However, her moment was stunted by the tied-up King
Couple.
“I am so sorry, let me free you,” she
said.
As soon as they were free, she watched as the
room slowly filled with her smiling family.
She looked about and saw her parents. Feeling
a burst of want she ran to them and tried to hug them. Her arms
went clean through them, but she was no deterred. She wanted to see
them and speak with them one last time.
“Mom, dad, oh, how I have missed you. I need
you. Your fruit company is not doing well,” she said in tears.
“You do not need us, Addie. You need you, and
you need, Conall. We knew when we had you it would be your destiny
to set our family free, and you have done so. As far as the company
is concerned that will come with time,” her mother stated.
“Yes, we both love you, Addie. Live happily,
sweetheart,” her father stated.
“Wait, how do I bring, Conall back?”
Her parents looked to each other and
subsequently to her and then answered in unison, “Love him, Addie.
Show him your love.”
And with that everyone began to ascend to the
ceiling and out to a chorus of, “Thank ye, Addie.”
Crying and hoping to see Conall, she watched
as everyone left except one, her Highlander.
He was shrouded in light, and had a brilliant
smile upon his face.
Running to him, she stopped within inches of
running through him.
“Addie, gel, ye accomplished our goal. I lo'e
ye sa 'ery much.”
“I love you too, how do I bring you back to
me?”
    “I donna’ ken,” he answered.
Worrying her lip, she recalled her parent’s
words and the coven words. She would know what to do. To speak from
her heart and truth would always set you free.
“Conall, I have some things to tell you. My
family, my ancestors were Wiccan. I used my instincts to vanquish
McIntosh. I know how you feel about the coven of the fern, but they
are a part of me, and I hope you can accept my abilities. Wait let
me finish.”
He was about to speak when she needed him
silent.
“I am independently wealthy with a failing
company, I did not tell you of my fear that Addie was still within
the attic, for I thought you would leave with her if I did.
