    â€œBruh, have you lost your damn mind? Man, if that girl is good, then I am a damn saint,” Cooley responded. She snatched her outfit for the day out of the closet. “I know you wanna get over Lena and all, but, shit, you can do better than her!” Cooley realized how upset she was. She knew her friend was headed for trouble.
    â€œLook, I don’t bother you about the bitches you have in and out of here, so please do not get on my one girl that I have over,” Denise replied, feeling herself getting angry. “And I would appreciate it if the Lena shit could be dropped, OK!” She sat down on Cooley’s bed and put her head down.
    Cooley turned around and looked at Denise. She began to smile.

    Denise jumped up and put her hand over Cooley’s mouth. “Hey, quiet. Rhonda may hear you,” Denise whispered while she checked to see if Rhonda was standing near the door. “No, I didn’t fuck Lena. We just kissed... a lot.”
    Cooley fell on her bed laughing. “Damn, man. When, where, and how the fuck was it?”
    Denise pulled up Cooley’s chair. “I told you we didn’t fuck. We just made out a lot. Man, last night, when I went over there. She had this great meal cooked and a masseuse. We were watching Love Jones, and next thing I know, I was on top of her, kissing her.” Denise smiled when the thought of Lena’s legs trembling while she was kissing her entered her head.
    â€œFor real? Gotdamn, Love Jones , I swear it works ev-erytime.” Cooley’s eyes lit up. “Man, I am so damn proud of you, dog. It’s only a matter of time before you get the pussy.” Cooley gave Denise daps. “I bet she’s saying ‘Brandon who?’ right about now.” Cooley laughed.
    Denise sat back in her chair. “I doubt it. She may be crying again. After the vase broke, she got a quick reality check and realized that she fucked up. She ran into the bathroom crying. I had to put her in the bed. I hope she is OK. I gotta have Carmen call and check on her.”
    â€œOh, damn. So, where does that leave you all now?” Cooley asked Denise.
    â€œFriends. I thought something was going to happen, but it’s just over. It was over before we had a chance to begin. Now, I have Rhonda, and I gotta move on.”
    Cooley sighed when Denise said Rhonda’s name.

    â€œMan, she’s harmless. You and Carmen are just going to have to get over this feud y’all have with her. I’m comfortable with her, so I’m going to keep her around.” Denise got up and headed to the door.
    â€œI hear you, dude, but I am telling you, sleep with one eye open.” Cooley stood up as Denise walked out the door. She knew Denise wasn’t going to listen, so she was going to have to look out for her friend.
