a lot we don’t quite understand still.” He grazed his fingers over her back, bringing out goose bumps until she giggled and squirmed. “I need a shower.”
“Think we can all fit?” Josh asked.
“Don’t see why not. Might be tight, but we surely can handle a small space after what we did together.” Nathan heaved himself up off the bed, every muscle in his body limp. Making love to Samantha had drained the energy right out of him. Emotionally, however, he was very alert. Adrenaline was chugging through him. His thoughts swirled around the possibilities. He needed fuel to get his body back up and moving and then a long run would be fantastic.
    “I’m starving,” Samantha stated.
Nathan looked back as he entered the bathroom. “I was thinking the same thing. And I could use a run.”
“Sounds perfect.” Josh sat up, taking Samantha with him as she straddled his waist. The woman still had Josh impaled inside her.
She nibbled a path across Josh’s chest. “You okay?” she muttered.
Nathan stepped into the bathroom and turned on the water. It wasn’t unreasonable to expect the two of them to need a moment alone. Yesterday they’d thought they were a mated twosome. Today, their world had shifted. He understood. His world was dumped on the floor and spread out clumsily so he felt like he was going to need to bend down and sift through the rubble to find anything that resembled his former state of being.
What would they do now? Where would they live? Thank God they were all living and working in St. Louis. But, God. How were they going to manage this new twist?
The water warmed as Nathan held his hand beneath the spray and pondered the about face that was his new existence.

Chapter Nine
Samantha looked into Josh’s eyes, holding his shoulders. She squinted to ensure he was telling her the whole truth. “I mean it. Please tell me if this feels weird to you.”
He laughed. “Weird?” He squeezed around her waist and kissed her soundly on the lips. “This is beyond weird, baby. It’s like a dream and I’m gonna wake up and find out I fell asleep waiting for you to arrive and you’ll be at the door—alone—when I hear the knock.”
    She grimaced.
“But,” he continued, putting a finger over her lips, “it’s right. I know it is. Not quite what I expected or ever planned, but it’s what Fate has for us. I can feel it. Strange will be my new middle name for a while, but we’re in this together and we’ll figure it out. What about you? Are you good?”
She nodded, cocking her head to one side and biting her lower lip. A flush heated her face. “Beyond good. But I feel a bit embarrassed to admit that.”
“Don’t.” He pressed a finger to her nose.
“I get the best end of this stick. Two men just rocked my world and set it on fire.”
“Oh, now I wouldn’t say you got the better deal. It may seem peculiar, but I really got off watching Nathan make you come. I mean, really .” He raised his eyebrows. “Made me so hard to see you shatter at his hands. Can’t say it’s explainable, but I loved it.”
“So you like to watch?” she teased.
“Well, we certainly aren’t adding anyone else to the mix, but I like to watch Nathan and you. Gotta draw the line somewhere. It was meant to be.” He lifted her off his cock and set her on her feet in front of him. Immediately she hated the disconnect, but they needed a shower and food.
Her legs wobbled, unsteady and she thanked heaven he didn’t let her go.
“You gonna make it there?” He held her with both hands.
“My muscles won’t cooperate. My thighs are sore.”
“I’m sure. Hot water will help. And maybe I can be convinced to massage them later.”
“My thighs?” She lifted her head. That would lead to nothing but trouble. “I think you’d better keep your hands to yourself for a while so I can recover.” She steadied herself and stepped back, nodding to the shower. “Water’s running.”
    Samantha headed into the
