“What percentage of
the Protectorate have you already recruited?”
“My network is not that large, but the vast majority will
rebel if we can set them free from their addiction. Without the compound, the
Gathosians are nothing.”
“Then what’s our next step?” She trailed her fingers across
his tellimon. The pattern hadn’t even begun to fade because he wanted
her again. He never seemed to stop wanting her.
“They have a chemist imprisoned in a secret lab. He knows
more about the compound than any person on Earth. We have to rescue him. He’s
our best, perhaps our only, hope.”
“Do you have any idea where he is?”
“I don’t, but Ulrick Brant does. Every complex on this
planet falls under his jurisdiction.”
“Which leads us back to my elite ambassadors.” She grinned,
blue eyes bright with anticipation. “I need to find the perfect female to
seduce the answers out of him.”
He leaned down and kissed her lips. “Think you can do it?”
“I know I can.” She wiggled back against the pillows, her
smile downright wicked. “He wants a female who doesn’t look or sound like a
professional. It’s more like she’ll need to forget everything she’s been taught
at the embassy and react to him like a woman reacts to a man.”
“And how does a woman react to a man?” He cupped her breast
with one hand and circled her nipple with his tongue, quickly losing interest
in any form of conversation.
“Without fear or reservation.” She pushed her fingers into
his hair and arched against his mouth.
“Sounds perfect.” He paused to suck then looked up and smiled.
“Better yet, why don’t you show me?”
“Yes Sir.” She tangled her fingers in his hair and pulled
his mouth down to hers.
About the Author
When my parents realized I had an aptitude for
storytelling—okay, even at an early age I was a consummate liar—they encouraged
me to find constructive ways to put all that “creativity” to use. I wrote my
first novel when I was in junior high school. It was a typical teenage girl’s
fantasy about being kidnapped by a sexy rock star, finding out he was really a
misunderstood millionaire’s son, and living happily ever after with the
reformed rebel. Check out
A
Taste of Twilight
if you’re curious to see what became of the
story.
Now I spend my days, and many of my nights, trying to keep
up with the characters springing to life within my mind. I find creative ways
of avoiding errands and housework because I can’t drag myself away from the
dramas unfolding in my latest story. And every day I thank God I was able to
quit my day job and actively pursue my dream! (I also write paranormal romances
for Ellora’s Cave as Cyndi Friberg. They are still smoking hot, just less
adventurous than Aubrey’s books.)
